What I love about Meisel's work for Vogue Italia is that there's always 'a story behind the story'. He was always accused of being a copycat, but I found it more of an education.

When you see these editorials, either you're already aware of the source - knowledge which adds some dimension to what you're seeing - or you go down a path of discovering where the inspiration came from, which means your world is expanded.
