Vogue Italia June 2010 : Eva Herzigova by Steven Meisel

This cover and editorial is AMAZING in actual magazine!

The main edit is just brilliant. The concept is well thought out, the composition is impeccable, and Valerija is the ultimate standout of the story
The shots by Lindbergh are superb too, he's a master. I love the Beauty ed, I only wish it wasn't supposed to be that of a big deal to feature only black models in an edit, but well.
Overall, an astounding content that totally makes up for the horrendous cover!

omg i;m such an idiot.
thank you so much!

& OMG this was most def. shot somewhere near my hometown in NJ

^thanks a lot, was hoping to see just a few cameos by the master himself. No appearances, as expected  A guy can dream though, right? :p

^ I always have such a hard time imagining Meisel being in some of the locations he uses.

^ But there is no Beauty supplement, or should be? (my copy had no supplement either) I think the next one will be out in November!

I always wonder why won't they place all the stickers on the back cover?? (anyway, I remove all the stickers with a dryer)

Yes, there just isn't a supplement with this issue. The next Beauty supplement in November? Yeah I think so too.
The Beauty images, jeremydante was talking about, are printed inside the issue.

I agree about the stickers, they are murder to get off, so I just leave them.

Oh my god, how do you remove them this way? The stickers on some of the magazines I own infuriate me!

^ Directing the heat of the dryer on the sticker, and removing it slowly with a forcep. When the sticker is recent, it's easily removed without leaving adhesive residue. When there are glue traces, it is more laborious, requires the use a cloth to remove the glue, but always with the heat applied.

Eddie Veder song describes the story to perfection !
pretty much what i imagined ...

OMG that film! and I can see your point... there's nothing Romani here as far as I am concerned bcos all models look sad and depressed... which does not really reflect the Gypsy culture...

You'd be sad and depressed, too, if you were constantly discriminated against like the Romani. Gypsy camp, nomads, whatever. I think I should have been more clear that the concept was clearly people on the fringes of society, and gypsies (especially in the past) came to mind immediately. BerlinRocks hit it on the nail:

they are just young people living in a forest, because they have no money and have been excluded from society ...
Meisel carries on looking at today's society ... Could be joined with that april (?) 2009 story, just that recession is getting worse and our youth's living like homeless. there are some in France, I know for sure !

The "gypsies" of the new era, so to speak.

'WILD IS THE WIND' by Steven Meisel, now i love a good mess but not when it looks soo dirty the clothes are unidentifiable. This was just amazing photography but a failure as an editorial

Eva Herzigova by Glen Luchford was gorgeous, i dont know why everyone hates it

the beauty supplement was the best think in this issue thus far and that wasn't even all that great

and......No HQ shots of the Cover???

^I've scanned it, but it has a sticker over the barcode. Which is annoying, but it doesn't come off easily.

Thanks for the HQ scan vogue28! :flower: I hate it when a magazine has a price sticker that doesn't come off easily.
