Vogue Italia June 2011 : Candice Huffine, Tara-Lynn & Robyn Lawley by Steven Meisel

the editorial of the plus size models is very nice, but in an erotic way though because I was kind of turned on...it wasnt high fashioned enough

it looks like a Guess campaign... I mean these girls are really hot, but not really classy

Personally, the thought I got from that post was that some photographers are perhaps not yet used to working with these models, so not every shot is going to be glorious due to their relative inexperience with them. Everyone - whatever size and shape - has their best angles, and while the model might know her poses, it might take longer for fashion photographers to catch up and produce consistently stunning imagery of these girls.

That said, this issue looked even better in reality, and when buying it, my only disappointment was that it didn't come with a supplement.

Yes, that's what I meant, photographers are not used to the kind of angles that work for bigger people. Now, of course, some angles don't work for the regular model size either, and that's why you never see them. It's very simple - for each body type there are certain poses that work and certain poses that do not. All I want is a beautiful image. And I believe women her size can be part of exquisite photographs just as the regular size can as well.

Shot2: That pose with the neck is for conveying bitchiness and to elongate the neck. One major flaw is to put that thing around her neck because it makes the pose meaningless. No neck can be elongated by a pose when it's surrounted by fur. Also, the glare shouldn't be on her upper arm, it makes it larger than it is, something that is not needed. I would have liked to see something with a cleavage in that shot rather than the fur rug that was used.

Shot5: The clenching her arm to make her smaller looks pathetic. It would have been better to stick to black and a freer pose.

But the other shots are beautiful, when there is more focus on the beauty rather than flaws.

Does anyone know following pic?
http://models.com/work/portrait-portrait-for-vogue-italia-by-gianluca

It is written that pic is portrait for June issue of Vogue Italia, but I cannot find it in any page of that magazine.

It was for Photovogue, an online platform open to professional and amateur photographers, to share their work and the best ones will be published on the foreground of Photovogue's homepage and the 3 best shots of the month will be also published in Vogue Italia.
That pic was taken by Gianluca Santoro and you can find it here :flower:

I hope we can see the original shoot
for the cover with big ladies [The Curvy Issue], we had to re-shoot. Because the original cover that he did, it was fantastic- much better than [the one] I ran, actually, but... too strong, you know.
[from Franca Sozzani interview inside the last Industrie - by me]

^^So they re-shoted cause it was too strong. And i thought that Vogue Italia was all about taking risks...
