Atrocious!! Why is it that every time Klein shoots a cover for them it ends up a mess? I really can't wait for Giovanni to be gone.
Despite her eternally vacant expression, I do feel sorry for Anok. She hardly ever gets covers and the one time she bags a big cover the team eclipsed it with that beast of a dog, and gaudy styling to boot.
This cover looks like it was picked by him while he was blindfolded and as he opened his eyes, the shot turned out to be an outtake that Klein took just to test the light. I can’t believe any serious fashion editor would ever greenlight a bad shot like this.
This cover is brilliant. I think a lot of people on this forum just hate Klein, and anything he does, which is bananas imo. He almost always nails it with his Vogue Italia covers.
The problem with Giovanni is that he has good ideas but he chooses the wrong photographers. Most of his best work is for campaigns and not for magazines!
Poor Anok... She deserve a much better cover! anyway, im happy for her achievement but I hope she gets another better VI cover soon...
I hate the styling and steven klein... no words for him.
It looks like one of those swingers parties held at posh houses where bored people with too much money get to indulge in things like peeing on each other in paddling pools and having sex with pedigree dogs.
Tragic. I’m glad to have stopped my subscription.
I love Anok but she can’t pose: her body language is bad, she always looks very stiff. The main problem here is not her but the whole image though: the styling is tacky and not in a good way and I think everyone’s eye will fall on the giant dog first. I also looked on vogue Italia site to “see more about the cover story” as they wrote in the Instagram caption and there were no other images so what should one see lol and the only description of the cover given was l”Steven Klein shoots Anok Yai in company of a Great Dane”. I feel fooled
Some of these comments are quite disturbing to read. Anyway, the cover is not bad to me and it’s your practical Klein aesthetics. Could it be better? Of course! But I’ll just wait to see the editorial to hopefully complete this cover.
