The fold out made me appreciate the cover shot even more. I love how decadent and melancholic this is; there's definitely a story there.

I usually think that Carolyn is better for classical pictures or beauty portraits and not this kind of photos, she looks wonderful here.

These sparklers make it even duller because her expression is so not festive at all... she looks like Steven told her:

Holiday Allure? What exactly displays this feeling here? she looks dead!!! one of these dead by strangulation cases... eyes open... mouth slightly open... seriously! I like Carolyn's work in general but not this... in essence, I don't dislike the image but it simply doesn't work in conjunction with 'Holiday Allure'?

VI is the most pretentious magazine at the moment! Their concepts almost never translate into their imagery...

I don't really think we should read too much into VI's coverlines, usually they just throw anything on.

But to me at least (before I saw the foldout anyway) it kind of looks like a party girl taking a breath, with the holiday season finally catching up to her. If this goes anywhere the disco route, with the stars and the glitter, it will be amazing ... and I love Carolyn she always reminded me of the old school Barbies.
