Vogue Italia October 2011 : Karen Elson by Steven Meisel

OMG, Tanga Moreau, Delfine Bafort and An Oost back in VI? Amazing. I love Winter's Edge, it's gorgeous

it is actually making me nervous for winter
although they are just standing there... it almost looks like
portraits of Nomadic women from the 19th century

The main ed is really good, but it would be even better if all the shots were in color. I love the cast of late 90's models though.

That is beautiful, reminds me of Penn's work. And fantastic casting, really excited to get this issue now, the cover is fine, but didnt do much for me, but this sells it hard!

WOW....Winter Edge is so so stuning!!
Meisel is back in the game with thhis last 2 issues...its actualy one of my personal favs...im obcessed with it!

I'm running out of breath now. Winter's Edge is absolutely beautiful!:heart: The nomadic style of approach was perfectly captured. From the styling up to the set design (Kudos to Mary Howard!), all perfect. And I just couldn't be more happier with the epic casting. Like OMG! An Oost, Caroline De Maigret, Delfine Bafort, Emma Balfour and Tanga Moreau on the pages of VI and shot by Meisel! :woot: Not that they haven't been shot by Steven before. It's just that it's so good to see these amazing and legendary models working with the genius again aside from Karen, Guinevere and Kirsten. Although how I wish there was more group shot than just one. But what the hell? It's still beautiful. I'll be getting this issue just for this one. ^_^

A Singular Style with Saskia by Roversi looks promising as well.

And to be honest, I was imagining Marisa Berenson, Erin O'Connor, Kristen McMenamy, Nadège Du Bospertus and Shana Zadrick to be part of the editorial as well before it was posted cause of its theme.^_^

So nice to see An Oost and in particular Gail O'Neil (stop forgetting the vintage black models more often please Steven) here. It's such a boring editorial though.

I'll wait until November; usually that's Meisel's best ed of the year (although I'm not optimistic considering the shabby efforts people have been making this year).

The casting in 'Winter's Edge' is totally sublime and I didn't expect to see so many of his old favourites, with Gail O'Niell a special thrill.
I really wish there were more group shots as I get the vibe that they are living in some cold, remote commune, but because there are mainly solo shots, it seems that they all might be living alone.
Anyhow the message is loud and clear and the video is lovely.

They aren't connecting at all. It's the aftershock of over stimulation. All that's left after the hype is remoteness and disconnection.

I'm happy and shock to see Gail O'Neil and Kirsten Owens in there but the ed is still quite boring sadly.
