Vogue Italia October 2011 : Karen Elson by Steven Meisel

I don't like the main ed, either. The model cast is amazing and I (almost) see what the ed is meant to show, but that's still quite boring. Plus, I'm so bored of b&w pic that Meisel keeps shooting recently. I want to see something different and fresh, if I'm not asking too much.
Vogue Suggestion and Saskia by Roversi look quite nice. Can't wait to see what's inside in this issue aside from those ^_^

i really like the set design and lighting in the Meisel ed! i think b/w is very suited for this, it's all about textures -_-
also why didn't they put "Winter's Edge" on the cover instead of "Winter's Nomadic Looks"??

more from KT Auleta's story
can you guys ID the models in Suggestions? i think i see Herieth Paul and Alyona Subbotina aside from Hanaa..

oh and it's been a really long time since i've been so underwhelmed by a Roversi ed like i do now :yuk:
.

So I guess Jenny Shimizu being part of the main editorial was just a random rumor at all?

They certainly need to let Meisel go... this guy is amazing but I think he's been with Vogue Italia for too long now... even though we live in the era of repetitiveness, revamp, reinvention, etc... this still feels like too much... people will still buy Vogue Italia but I think less and less because of Meisel’s work... they certainly need a breath of fresh air... every season you kind of expect similar titles, similar editorials, etc. the cast is amazing and look what we get... stuck in a barn... sitting... and waiting...

I adore the main editorial. It has depth to it, and lots of emotions, but I can see why would some people see it as boring.
Saskia's ed looks really interesting as well, I can't wait for a full review!

Winter's Edge is outstanding! Some incredible talent; Gunilla, Cordula, Gail, Kirsten...it goes on and on. I love everything about this ed!!! Almost reminds me of the November 1999 Natural Life ed with Lisa Taylor, Missy Rayder, Marisa Berenson, Jane Hitchcock, Josie Borain & Birgitta af Klercker by using former top models.

For those asking about Brittani (Autumn) Kline's editorial, it'll be in the November issue (according to Facebook).

Not a fan of Karen Elson, but i hace to recognize that cover it's beautiful, strong but light in colors and theme.

^ 7 eds in the Oct. issue of VI -_- But the review sounds kinda promising actually.
Looking forward to Tim Walker's story :) Also I am interested to see how Carola looks in Sorrenti's photos. She's very photogenic, as far as I know.
Thanks for the review!

Tim Walker's ed looks amazing! Tentalicious, how many pages does this issue have?

Mechanical Dolls looks amazing already! :woot::heart: Love the preview shot from the editorial with Audrey. Can't wait to see the entire spread especially Kirsi's shots. And Audrey back on VI! :buzz:

Thanks for the review tentalicious! :flower:

i really like this issue. Tim Walker's ed is typical Walker's-wonderfulness (and it's soo long!) and i also love the Sorrenti one.

Such an amazing review! Can't wait for Sigrid's ed and Tim Walker's!!!
