I kinda like the 90's feel of the second ed...the main story a couple of nice shots and lots of halfway there images...not fond on the cover layout...

How sad that Vogue Italia has zero momentum. No one talks about it prior to its release, no one talks about it after its release. The cover hasn't even been released on social media and it's already published in digital - and I can tell you for a fact that as soon as I close this thread and return to my book I'm going to forget about its contents. Maybe that's just me. But Mariacarla would usually spark a bit of interest and excitement in me. This does no such thing.
I'm not quite sure why they felt the need to draw her eyebrows like that. There's no story to it, it doesn't complement the rest of the look and it looks unneccessarily messy. So the cover is sloppy from the get go. That corset instantly reminded me of a door mat and now that's all I see. The editorial isn't a cover story, it's a filler. A good filler, but a filler nonetheless. I don't care for it and it isn't memorable at all. The other story is the same. Another issue with no substance.

It's unbelievable to me that Italia, literally one of the four giants in fashion, has fallen down to the level of whatever this is. It's shameful how a publishing house sabotaged what used to be their greatest asset with petty policies and nothing but profit in mind. Shameful. Someone should update those peoples Wikipedia so that future generations can recognise idiotism.

the worst cover Mariacarla ever did...
and this is how VOGUE ITALIA did on a top model

I like it! :ninja:

but I’m a huge Mariacarla fan and her body language is insane. will get it just because of her.

I guess it's the conspiracy theorist in me, but I genuinely cannot believe that people would earnestly produce something so bad. They *have* to know how horrible this is... don't they?

Edward will not allow any other Western Vogues to be better than Vogue UK.

The coverstory has potential, I’ll give them that. They did tried. And if I’m being kind, reminds me of the far far far superior 2003 W Magazine Madonna x Steven Klein’s “Madonna Unbound”. But only just slightly— and if I’m being very kind. A few interesting shots and compositions, but mostly filler that’s consistent with these new “talents”: They simply cannot produce a story with solid imagery from beginning to end. And they need to learn about lighting because this brand of flat-lighting that’s royalty-free stock photography fodder is not worth a 2nd-swipe let alone worthy of print.

The other story is cheap filler. And everything else are just reprints. No distinct Italian charm and identity anymore. It’s all about being a supplement to Edward’s Vogue now.

Vogue Italia is now Vogue Imposter.

Crap. Then again I've never been a fan or understood the appeal of Mariacarla Boscono so not even the fact an Italian model is on the cover of an Italian fashion magazine is enough to save it for me.

Noticed that's Dior. Don't get the unwearable designs here and on the cover of VF. I know it's fashion, but I don't see anybody with these clothes.

It looks like a test shoot.

Clueless test shots now get Vogue covers. Jacquemus' sloppy first draft designs are now a successful brand. And Paloma sleepily standing around is a Super.

These two— and let it sink in that it took two photographers and a stylist to conjure a non-story that goes nowhere, when they had all the top brands to pull from. Utter witlessness.

The styling could have taken inspiration from fencing uniform, with its strict, poised athleticism and formality in aesthetic code. The Dior corset could have been photographed so beautifully with light going through the netting onto Mariacarla’s skin. Or her musculature sensually lit to showcase every definition. Instead, these 3 squander every opportunity with styling, composition and lighting (the shots of Mariacarla contorting on the floor with the most awkward cropping that looks like she’s having a stroke), let alone hope for some semblance of a fashion story to tell. And WTF didn’t they crop/edit out the random kid in the background LOL …It’s all so sloppy. Imagine had Meisel shot this, styled by Karl, art directed by Fabien, with makeup by Pat and hair by Julien… :sigh:

(…But I get it: New generation of “female-gaze” etc etc etc blah blah blah…)

Don't... it's just too sad to remember the past at this point.:lol:
