Vogue Italia October 2022 : Mariacarla Boscono by Tanya & Zhenya Posternak

The prestige of this magazine is now officially gone. It still had a bit of respect under Farneti but even then was already waning.
Don't want to go on about the pedestrian content because it's honestly not worth ranting about. They are now firmly in the class of servicey Amica and Vanity Fair Italia.

The only thing that can save VI is a UK Vogue-style revamp. Bring back rich storytelling in styling, rich photography, rich social narratives. Anything less is just a waste of budget and paper.

I saw it today at the supermarket and looks worse in the physical way...Maria Carla looks weird and the picture nothing at all. Funny that @Benn98 mention Amica which is one of the best selling magazines in Italy (or it was 2020/2021) and even them had a positive revamp, and their editorials if not groundbreaking most of the times are more pleasant to see.

Supermarket is the place where it belongs.

I don't believe in putting down a magazine depending where it's on sale, because it responds to their commercial strategy, that i assume is to try to make it more accessible to everyone, but i understand what you've tried to say.

Don't... it's just too sad to remember the past at this point.:lol:

But it’s not even the past! All these talents are still active and producing solid work... at Zara LOL The real sad part is that they’re being passed over for such such such lessers all in the name of “progress”. Though it’s not progress when the creative standards have been lowered to those 1st-year fashion/design students posting on SM. It’s called affirmative action and the fashion realm operates like your federal government institution now.

Like even on The CNWN website there's almost all the issues from 2022 still available for like 5 pounds... Even the magazine fans don't want it anymore.

CNWN doesn't care to make the effort to sell a sinking Titanic. The casual fashion fans whom are never critical of anything, that may be into these sorts of low-effort and generic InstaGallery imagery are used to only viewing edits on their phones; they’re not paying for it. And the discerning, critical fashion fans that grew up on and/or appreciate Franca’s Vogue, are being insulted by such low standards that they’ve given up on collecting waste. They know it.

Interestingly enough, Emanuel seemed to have learned his lesson after his contribution in the destruction of Italia: His D la Repubblica is actually solid. It’s only a single fashion story per issue— but it is a weekly offering. The art direction isn’t the best, but overall, he’s kept the imagery for the fashions stories sleek, slick and traditionally high fashion. Lesson well learned at the expense of destroying Italia LOL

Anyone that has possession of the entire Franca era of Vogue— or anyone that’s currently accumulating her era of Vogue; you own, or will own the Holy Grail of Vogue. Cherish it. That’s fashion history that needs to be remembered and passed down.

Sorry but I think what Farneti did was criminal. This is low, but replacing models with artworks, and making zillion covers per month, he didn't made a good magazine. He's doing it quite great because his art director is not Verderi.

I wonder why she’s not on the cover of Italia during its golden years. She should’ve been a VI cover star for more than 5 atleast.

Because she was never a true Meisel favourite in the beginning of her career. It took a very long time before he shot her for the cover.
