Vogue Italia May 2022 : Joan Smalls by Cho Gi-Seok

I've been following Cho Gi-seok's ig for a couple of years now, loved his work and I'm happy to see him getting to shoot for Vogue Italia but that cover reminds me more than ever this is not the Vogue Italia of Franca's day.

I actually don't mind the daisies on the cover but the pose just looks awkward combined with the daisies? The other shots are better, would have preferred one of them instead.

I like Joan Smalls, always thought she was beautiful and makes a terrific model (still fawn over her W Magazine cover by Steven Meisel) but this is just another forgettable Vogue Italia cover. There's just... zilch going on here and I certainly don't blame Joan. The concept and photography is naff!
