Vogue Italia September 2011 : Stella Tennant by Steven Meisel

it's been a while since Steven step outside! I personally think it's beautiful but
it seems like a conventional VI couture supplement than a september issue cover that could rival many other beautiful covers we have seen for the last few weeks.

I totally love this cover! It's all about fashion and a great model wearing stunningly beautiful clothes! I hope the content is as good as the cover.

wow, there haven't been many VI covers i loved this year but i think this one's fantastic. Can't wait to see the ed.

Fantastic, my favorite September cover.

Well it's hardly gonna go down as one of their iconic covers, but the avant garde element certainly excites, even if the font doesn't.
If this is the kind of tone your after, there really isn't another model who can so easily convey this gothic and slightly sinister feel. Maybe that dress is paining her.
Pairing Meisel and Stella will never be anything short of interesting and I hope the contents are appealing.

Ah, I love this. A very unexpected choice, I love the Prada coat. The image is also very Edward Scissorhands.

It could be a BIG campaign, it has everything, the clothes, the background, the make up, the light...but it has Stella, boring.

Yea... I don't see what most of you love. & that nose piercing(?) throws me off.
Waiting for HQ version.

You nailed it on the head!

Fantastic shot, although I do love when Meisel shoots in his gardens.

Here's hoping he gives Fei Fei a cover before the year is out though ^_^.

I am so happy the cover looks like it was shot outdoors! I am so tired of studio shots on the cover; it's nice to see something new. It's really nice to see Stella on the cover and the cover itself and really cool. Lets hope the content is good.

I literally freaked out when I saw the thread title and after seeing the cover image, the only thing that I said was "WOW.". Now we're talking about Meisel and his genius mind. This is such a fantastic cover! I knew that after seeing Stella's name on the thread title as the cover girl, it's gonna be amazing. And it is! Though the waist portion is kind of bothering me as well but I think Stella nailed it. As for the typeface that is used for Avant-Garde text, I agree with some of you. Some other font should have been used instead of that Arial/Helvetica like font. And aside from Edward Scissorhands, I do also get a Garden Of Delights vibe from US Vogue December 2006 shot also by Meisel.

I am just so thrilled to see Stella on the cover again after 7 years (Her last was March 2003). And finally, it's not a studio shoot! Thank God for that. Now I can't wait to see the main editorial. ^_^

I'm not a big fan of Stella but I don't mind her here at all. She suits the style very well. The only model who would look even better in this would probably be Erin O'Connor.

it's a beautiful shot and i love stella, but that waist looks so freakish.
