^

That's achingly beautiful! She looks like a Hollywood actress from the golden age.

I'm thinking of ordering this issue from newsstand.co.uk because the $30 price there is much more reasonable for this issue than the $60 I'd have to pay to buy it in Canada. However, I am wondering if newsstand.co.uk ships the supplements with the March/September issues of Vogue Italia. Does anybody know? This will be the deciding factor.

^ but that review of the March 1999 issue was only of the main issue. There's a seperate review of the Couture supplement. I can post here to compare to the current supplement. But it's basically the same story.

I agree with mikel. VI is not what it was anymore. It used to have tons of wonderful eds in September issues.

In this issue each ed looks/sounds okay and some are great. But I still have a higher expectation of it and I can't throw it out, tbh. -_-

Up until now, I still couldn't believe that those are the only editorials in this issue. Considering that this is the Sept. issue where it is supposed to be boasting a number of editorials, etc. It's just like a regular one after all. :(

But as for the editorials posted, A Point of View by Klein really stands out. Next being Vogue Suggestions with Isabeli by Peters wherein I get this Sophia Loren/Isabella Rosellini vibe in each shot. And I am just so glad to see Lydia Hearst on the pages of VI again. :)

Really looking forward to see The Discipline of Fashion with Stella. From the preview, I think it's gonna be amazing. And forgive my lack of knowledge but, is this Katie Grand's first styling gig for VI? Because I have a feeling that it's not.^_^

I just got the issue. I'M SO disappointed by the couture supplement (haven't got to the mag yet). The roversi ed is wonderful, but what about the rest? there's basically only 2 eds (the roversi and the aldridge one, which is definitely not his best work) and there's another ed that accompanies the furstenberg article wich is very underwhelming. The couture supplement is one of the things i mostly look forward to but...

Ok i swear i'm not spamming this thread but i just gave a full look at the mag... Meisel's ed is INCREDIBLE, i absolutely love it, my favourite thing from VI this year. The Klein ed is less exciting than i was expecting, and the rest is pretty forgivable, except maybe for the craig mcdean ed that's very dark and stands off. the rest is pretty useless, it's a shame for such a huge issue

Can you give us the full preview,Please :flower:

main issue is 550 (but i swear that at least 400 are ads)
supplement is 160

the couture supplement, other than the eds mentioned, has a 13-pages spread of valentino couture only by deborah turbeville, and a weird thing about giambattista valli couture with random i-phone shots of the dresses taken by valli itself
It's impossible to scan the issue without ripping it, so i'll take a few shots of meisel's ed since there was basically no preview of it so far

isabeli's ed is pretty but kinda boring. its very one note and its been done (especially by VI) a million times
