Vogue Italia September 2012 : Carolyn Murphy by Steven Meisel

I like the editorial and how intimidating the masks are, but honestly i dont get meisel's fascination recently with plastic surgery and everything looking fake. It reminds me a bit too much of Steven Klien's work with latest work with linda in W. I guess i am just sick of seeing latex already.

it's so creative and high fashion :)) I love it, I actually don't find it scary, but rather cool in a way, I find the image very ravising and the idea with the mask and not age and everything was well worked.

Very creepy but interesting at the same time. On the other hand, I can't remember one stitch of clothing Carolyn's wearing in her editorial, but I remember every mask!

Such a great ed! Meisel at his best, the title is amazing, its all creepy but with a purpose. That video takes it to another level, wow.

I do Love it! I love the continuity managed, the way the cover is presented as a pre-view of what is about to come, also the first ed page, I mean the one in which Carolyn is putting the mask on her face, the video...

I just say it's a very smart idée.

Oh my goOdness that is some creepy mess! I was expecting her to kill someone with that high fashion psycho look.

The video is complete perfection, looks like a trailer for a Terror Movie. I enjoy the editorial, even if it could have been better and longer, it's not tacky as March cause it tells a strongest story/idea for me... Not just random people eating greasy food at a restaurant and then flushing everything on the toilet.

Carolyn's editorial is just perfect. For me, even more with the video, it's the best fashion story I've seen this yera so far.
I always love when Miesel has this kind of satyrical approach. Of course he already did the whole "narcissitic youth and beauty obsession among women" but here it's on a whole other level. The masks, the fact that Carolyn is so unrecognizable and has almost every inch of her body covered in latex alludes to the fact that women are so obsessed with looking younthful, they'd be willing to loose their identity and transform themselves in those drag and plastic creatures. Also the lascivious pose and the fetish inspiration add a disturbing sexual tension to the ed, which makes it a bit uncomfortable to look. Last but not least the video which is really amazing.
Kudos to Carolyn for doing this because it must have been a pain in the *** to shoot.

The video is deliciously disturbingly haunting, it enhances the mood of the editorial so well.

Eniko always looks stunning, I want to see her in more covers.

"Face The Future" seems this inspired in Donatella Versace :innocent:

Eniko should be more versatile, she always have the same face and poses :innocent:

^ Models don't usually direct themselves though...

this looks like absolutely great issue. Main editorial is so stroong! Love it...
