Vogue Japan May 2022 : Mika Schneider by Nathaniel Goldberg

Literally looks like Zara Stories, although that's not as much of an insult as it should be considering the great quality of their digital catalogs. Sad to see the blueish filter did not make it into the editorial, it made the cover that much better. Without it the photos seem rather flat, but it's a lovely little editorial regardless.

Not a fan of the other editorial at all.

I find the cover story intriguing. From title to casting, it is unusual, unexpected, hard to contextualize. Shot after shot, it throws you off, it keeps things interesting. As a matter of principle, Goldberg never leaves the ground, he elevates it instead. Your mind is engaged, your eyes don't let go.

Even the slightest change in Mika's expression transforms her completely. Like variations in music.

Compared to say... January 2022, this is a good cover and I oddly like this better than Mika Schneider's last Vogue Japan cover just a few months ago. It's completely devoid of glamour and emotion but I am rooting for Nathaniel Goldberg to become what Luigi & Iango once was to Vogue Japan!

The issue is very simple & boring, it's seems than Goldberg become the VJ's photographer to shoot the cover.

The cover reminds me of Laura Palmer wrapped in plastic.

everything is bad.....there is no improvement with the new team.
Nathaniel Goldberg is boring as hell....Evey story looks exactly the same....I am totally puzzled.
