Vogue Korea December 2024 : Amelia Gray by Luigi & Iango

I can't stand Amelia Gray, I don't know why. Oh no, I do, because she seems extremely bland with nearly zero skills. She reminds me of Lola Bahia and Lola Nicon, they were nearly everywhere for a season and then poofed out of the existence in high profile things.

It is not their fault entirely, the girls get propelled to the height without years of prior experience, because they are fresh and are the new thing.

Does anyone in Korea care about these people?
take this with a massive grain of salt given I'm not Korean so really shouldn't be speaking on it, but hey this is the internet, it's my prerogative to espouse my unauthorized opinion, based on what I've seen translated on other forums and social media.

There's a substantial amount of Koreans who have an interest in Western culture and Western celebrities. Particularly lauded are 20th century American and European actresses that created niche phenomenons in Korea in the 90s/2000s (just look up "Korea, Olivia Hussey" for example). Hence I could see the cinephile crowd being interested in an Isabelle Hupert cover.

Gigi is a pretty well-known name in Korea too, as far as Westerners go, though more recently her image hasn't been the most positive due to some old controversies and her declining appeal as a model.

For Amelia Gray on the otherhand, as in America, very few will care. Other nepos like Lily Rose Depp, Deva Cassel, Kaia Gerber, etc. get buzz in Korea because of their legendary beauty mothers, but I don't think Lisa Rinna qualifies Ameria for such a category

^4th picture is the first time the word 'serene' could apply to her so credit when it's due. I appreciate that they're still in the business of lifting a model's look and their rigor for beautification, just wish it weren't so heavy on the finishing, which is indicative of this niche branch of makeup artists turned photographers (with the only exception of Serge Lutens actually applying his knowledge into creating a distinctive photography style.) I'm having major SL fatigue though.

This would have been a better cover and lead editorial, if expand on it with a few more pictures. Korean actress Han So-Hee is much more well-known in South Korea than Amelia Gray Hamlin.

The first two covers with Amelia Gray are the strongest out of the four. This might just be the best I've seen from her in terms of Vogue covers. The first is gorgeous, absolutely love those muted colours, everything is working - from the art direction to the beauty styling.

Don't know for Lola but Loli is very much still a high profile top model and very/too present on the fashion scene although I do agree the three have very poor modeling skills.

Amelia looks better here.
But I don't think she's as big a star for her legs and a YSL bag to be able to identify her.
Like, pace yourself sweetie- you've not yet reached icon status yet.

I like Gigi's covers, but I also like Gigi more. Just in general.

Whenever it's Amelia or Naomi, it takes like two posts before someone brings up the fillers and plastic surgery yet no one ever brings up the subject when it's one of these Korean cookie cutter atrocities.

Well probably because it's so much more obvious with western plastic surgery.
