Vogue Mexico & Latin America June 2022 : Millie Bobby Brown by Claudia Knoepfel

With AD Fernando Rubalcava gone from Vogue Mexico, this issue looks so stunningly… cheap. Like, it was put together by interns for an inflight rag.

The coverstory is a waste. And that’s not the fault of Milly. I’m aware that she’s not very popular with some, but she is capable of more. And @YohjiAddict, she does resemble Stranger Things Season 1 Winona LOL … The shoot is not kind to Milly. The better story is Santiago’s “Fiel a su Proposito” of Tindo Mar, and styled by Tonne Goodman. If it’s a Mexico original and not a reprint, it’s a solid story— just terribly presented with awful layout. Fernando would have done wonders with it, but not this amateur mess that’s forsaken an official AD.

If this is the presentation of Vogue Mexico from now on, they made a huge mistake by not having an AD— and one as talented and important to their team as Fernando. Huge huge huge mistake.

So sad he left. I don't remember if his first issue was Alma Jorodowsky or Karmen Pedaru (late 2015). VM started to look beautiful ever since until the global imposition months ago. The last 7 issues are worse than Talamas era, and maybe he left because he can't do much at this point. At the same time he was the art director of GQ México & Latam. He really changed both for good. What a shame from CN ruining these magazines.

I'm able to appreciate there's zero gimmicks with the cover shot, it's just a straightforward portrait image from Claudia Knoepfel which shows Millie Bobby Brown in a very flattering light - with lovely beauty and fashion styling. Nothing to complain about here!

So this issue was never posted, but there really is not much to see. Reprinted contents are that hideous fashion week editorial from American Vogue, as well as Tindi Mar's story.
