this edit actually reminds me of the french issue and that lara/aline weber feature by demarchelier from june/july 08.

i kinda like it but i will rather wait to see it irl as its little early to judge.

This issue looks completely amazing. I think the issue is worth buying for the cover itself, but the main ed is great to boot. I like how they have some studio shots and some with more exotic setting. Daria, Lara, Freja, Raquel... Great cast too.

Seems to be the worst issue I have seen from VP in some time. What is missing...?

That was my first impression, it's like everything is a weaker version of what we know - it's like I'm looking at another magazine which is pretending to be Vogue Paris. I see it mostly in that Anja editorial, where all the elements are there, but the essential magic is missing, that 'something' which sets Vogue Paris apart. It looks like the work of an imitator who's really good, but not the real thing.

But I'm saying that without seeing the issue for real, there are numerous issues I didn't like the look of, until I got them in my hands. And the people who do have it, I'm seeing what they're saying about it.

That said, I bought the Dec-Jan issue a few weeks ago, and haven't looked at it once.

i'm officially not excited about this issue. not even the fashion editors, casting etc can make me feel as anxious (in a good way) as I used to be about vp.
i agree that there's something missing, at least in my eyes. i'd be biased if i say it's because we haven't seen any editorial by testino for a year but i guess that's one of the main reasons to explain why the "magic" has gone. i know that carine is competent and also smart enough to work with a huge list of photographers and i have already seen many editorials which she did that. so, again i really don't know what's happening with the magazine's crew.
