Vogue Paris February 2012 : Daria Werbowy by Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin

I wish Emmanuelle would push the envelope more and bring some fresh talents to the issues. Not using the same stylists, photographers and ideas over and over again.

I agree so much, a little diversity wouldn't hurt anyone :ermm:

despite my eternal love for daria, this issue is the quintessence of creative void.

and it's not a lack of overall direction; it's that every single shot looks like the result of an assembly line. everybody (model, photographers, editors...) seems to have been forced to produce produce produce pictures... nobody seems to have believed in the project, everything looks emotionally/rationally empty.

^ Yes, on point. It's deja vu. Thank God for Aline's ed, but that's not going to make me buy it.

^ ^ Well said. So that was why I got tired looking at each picture of the long ed, I guess.

I though was a full issue with Daria, but it seems no a issue dedicated to her, the long ed looks like exactly than the last August, i don't understand why are the studio shots are incluyed on the ed?

I think than VP is dead.

Daria shows here that she isn't that versatile! Same face, and some strange poses, don't like the main ed!

Now talking about Aline Weber......MAGNIFICENT ED! :buzz::wub::crush:

After seeing the cover I was kinda excited to see editorial but it's not great, studio shots are best! The fact Daria is the model, saves the entire thing. I hope I'll like more shots when I see them in print. Shots don't seem to have same allure as during Carine era. I wish they shot most part of the ed in the studio, because I&V did fantastic collections editorial in the studio for August 2009 issue. I would love to see collections edit shot by Mert & Marcus for once.

And I absolutely don't have any expectations for March issue because you know there will be: either Isabeli or Raquel by Sims, Arizona Muse or Daria Werbowy by Inez & Vinoodh, Anja Rubik or Karmen Pedaru. And the worst side is that editorials will have same concepts as in past..

FIRE ALT!

daria used to be very versatile and she can still be so, but her modeling quality has got lower since she started to be 'used' very badly. and that's been happening since 2-3 years. from time to time she still gets to do something different, like with cass bids, but *they* want her to play always the same supersexy feminine role, so she gets static and repetitive cos it's like her body rebels to that. so the overall effect is more ****** than sexy in my humble opinion.

i have to disagree with u eword. i think she is more versatile than ever. i find her works have more depth than ever. her recent works for example like her us ed with lindberg, maiyet and salvatore f/w 11 campaigns just prove my point... at least i see it that way. i find she has matured as a model.

i just think that bc there are too much of daria in one issue which make people less appreciate what they see.

her latest works are bland and repetitive, apart from a few things (by Cass Bird, Demarchelier, something on the beach last year, a couple of campaigns like Ferragamo). just look at the poses and expressions, they are always the same. compare them to her 2003-2007/2008 works and you will see the objective difference. i mean, it's not her fault, she is just badly *used*. and this disappointing VP issue is just the point of arrival of this trend.

I'm really surprised that so many people like the cover. I think that swimsuit combined with the hairstyle makes her look so MATRONLY! And the main ed was just a hot mess...

Does anyone know when this issue will be out in the US?:flower:

Not that I disapprove of access to storemags, or other digital download sites. But the saturated effects added to these extractions, fail to do the entire magazine justice. I have noticed how soft and attractive Daria's edit is, after making a purchase. This is one heck of an issue.

yess igree vogue28 now i hate storemags

^^ I agree! The colors are more attractive not annoying. The magazine is better in real life

Marvelous that a short video transcends into vast admiration towards a set of pictures. Not that I wasn't fond of the edit before. But Inez & Vinoodh have compiled an excellent video to accompany the story, which I'm mesmerized with. Daria can move. The connection between Daria and I&V is blatant, an attribute that is essential.
