Vogue Paris June/July 2009 : Anja Rubik by Inez Van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin

Sasha is an old school supermodel in that ed :woot:

The image of her looking at the camera with the boy's arms around her floored me :shock: Incredible.

after 10 pages the cover is RUBBISH (VP has disappointed me again), the jac & kamila ed looks really good but the Eniko & Guinevere ed looks FANTASTIC :woot: can't wait to see the rest of that

wow Sasha's ed is wonderful too! I wonder who the cute blonde guy is!

WOW the cover is an EPIC let down!! WTF!! What is with Anja and her bad luck with Vogue covers?

She looks busted on the cover to say the least, i have seen better and more creative covers at US Vogue, her hair is wack, the face expression is stupid and the styling is beyond bland and predictable.I&V need to seriously stop being overused for VP! Her preview edit picture doesnt look good either, she looks ghastly in that shot, god i am so pissed off for having such high expectations in the first place.VP has been total crap this year for me.

Oh well....i love Anja so i will keep hoping she gets a decent cover one of these days, the content looks better at least, this time.Sasha is working her ed,Isabeli looks beautiful, and Eniko + Guinevere's ed looks interesting.

Thanks so much for the snaps elsaskywalker. :flower:

Well this is what happens when everyone has such high expectations for a cover, you get let down. Also, what did you people expect from I&V...that have been less then steller lately.

For me its the hair and plain white background that ruin it for me.

^ Well in I&V's defence they don't have anything to do with the styling

The cover feels like a Japanese VOGUE cover. The image itself isn't appealing to me at all.

I think the first pic in post #200 would have been a more striking cover (and another deserved one for Sasha). My favourite June/July cover of VP in recent years is still Catherine McNeil's  but as I said earlier, I think the current cover is nice...

Well the styling dosen't bother me at all, just the hair. Its really the white background that bothers me because it makes the cover look so dull and boring.

Wow, I can't believe how much of a let down this is. She looks like she's going to a picnic. I would have liked this cover if she was in Dior HC Fall 2008. It would've been a lot more amazing. Some of the editorials look promising. But I'm guessing that this is a Dior-dedicated issue.

I do not like this cover. Its not what I wanted !
Studio shots are so boring. With an interesting background a cover always is ten times better. BORING !

Sasha ed is amazing.
As for the rest I look forward to seeing more !

And YAY to Bianca for the third time on the row she features in the beauty ed :woot:

Thanks a lot elsaskywalker :flower:

This is the first Vogue Paris cover that I think is not sexy in some way. It's frumpy, don't you think? The scarf around the neck? Seriously? It's lame. Vogue US is more cutting edge than this for chrissakes!!! :innocent:

I was expecting something pretty brilliant from the cover. In my mind, I had a vision of something like the Fall 2008 Chloe campaign with Anja by Inez&Vinoodh. A sexy young blonde on the streets of Paris. Oh how wrong I was! :ninja:

The cover is not bad, but just like everyone else I was also expecting more. But I'm still very happy for Anja that she finally got another Vogue cover.
And the eds look very promising too.

The pics of Eniko and Guinevere are distasteful, to say the least, but then I don't really have high hopes for Sorrenti's work.

^ I can't wait to see them  they sound/look great
I am unsurprised
Anja and I&V were bound to bring the yawns
only a few of the eds look good... this is all we get for two months :(

^ Yeah but look on the bright side, they'll get an extra month to work on the August issue and VP's August issues are usually packed with wonderful contents :buzz:

I have to say that I am very impressed by Sasha's editorial. It might even make me like her.

To be honest this cover is quite good. I hate that background. It's tacky and it doesn't work for me. And those clothes - NO!!!

But I also think, Anja looks realy great there. Her pose and face doesn't look boring.

It's a shame that this is her first BIG cover and it looks like this. I mean I&V know Anja so well. They know how she works,..... and they gave us sth like this?!?!? Come on guys, you're better than this. Even Anja's Numero covers looks better!!! Probably it would look much better with a different background.

The worst thing is that I had huge expectation to this cover. I thought Anja + I&V = really amazing job. And this is Anja's first big cover.

Anyway I'm still happy for her and wish her all the best.

the cover is a let down
and I do agree with taben that
being Sasha's shot would have made a great cover
I love it sooo much and im def getting this issue to celebrate me graduating high school
