I've just (finally) picked up a copy on the newstand... I'm a subscriber but still haven't received my copy. I've called Conde Nast and they're gonna send another copy but I couldn't wait...
After such a long wait I was afraid i'd be disappointed upon seeing the magazine in real life, but everything is amazing, beautiful and glossy. Just what I needed between 2 exams!
And I must say I'm surprised the Freja/Lara ed gets so much hate - I think they look gorgeous, the styling is good and I like the simplicity of the photography. Overall, not a single ed I would not keep!
There's a couple of pretty pics we haven't seen, like Constance (great shot) and Karmen Pedaru for the Zoom section...
But the best thing about this issue is the DVD... Beside the Dior backstage thing that is a bit useless, the other 2 features are amazing!
The beauty shoot is very graphic and fun, Iselin looks great and seems to be such a cool girl! They put her through a lot during the shoot but the final result is amazing, shows how much of a pro she is (although I like that you sometimes see her struggling with the make-up or standing still, models are humans after all!)
The 53-minute documentary is the best documentary on models I've ever seen. It's fun, it's endearing and it's very well done! Each girl gets to show her personality, and beside the 5 main girls there are a lot of cameos (Stam, Maryna, Vlada, Karlie...)
Freja - that girl is badass. I love how chilled she is, and she looks absolutely stunning. I'd love to hang out with her!
Natasha - she wasn't featured as much as I would have liked her to but you can tell she's a true professional
Sasha - she is the cutest! So melancholic and cheerful and nice!
Constance - just adorable. Carine really seems to want to push her so hopefully that means a cover in the future!
Sessilee - gorgeous girl, it broke my heart to see she did almost nothing during PFW... Carine says she doesn't understand why and she hope Paris gets her appeal next time
It may sound sadistic but I just love how the film shows how difficult a job modeling is (the endless waiting, the short nights, early calls, rushing between shows, people pulling your hair...). I don't think models get nearly enough credit for the job they do and this film is good in that way!
I can't wait to watch it again when my second copy arrives
