Vogue Paris June/July 2013 : Andreea Diaconu by Mario Sorrenti

Why didn't they just put Anja on the cover? She features heavily in the main ed and has more shots than the actual cover person. Sometimes, I feel that Emmanuelle's decision-making skills are quite limited.

What I hate about this cover is how visible the sand is on her face. It's very weird when you see the mag in person.

I love Hilary's editorial she looks really cute and sexy and that smile  & Joan's is sultry. They make this issue for me!

I agree with Alauu, such a poor choice to feature Andreea over Anja on the cover...
Some shots of Hilary´s ed remind me of Max Mara ad campaigns, makes me miss her as their face...

Love Les Feux De La Nuit! Beautifully photographed and Joan looks stunning.

First of all it's a very good issue. I like pretty much everything. Each edds fits to this sunny, relax theme. I don't blame anyone for choosing Andrea for the cover. She's the hotest girl in the town right now. She had amazing season and she diserved it. However, I agree that Anja would make much better cover, more interesing and more eye catching. Too bed for her, because she did a fantastic job in this issue and also in many other issues of VP. She's an ultimate VP girl and still she don't get covers. But I keep my fingers crossed that maybe some day she will finaly apear on it.

Could they have had more nude pics?! It's appalling how many raunchy pics they used for the sake of "high" fashion... yeah right... Where are the freakin' clothes? The pieces people will wear? Never got that Vogue Paris' extreme obsession with nudity. It's a dull issue anyways.

New models please! Always Isabeli, Edita, ANJA, Malgosia (the only one who deserves a cover), Magdalena and for once KATE MOSS, stop with her!

Love the cover. What a great choice to put andreaa on it. So summer, so fresh.

What a spectacular issue. The editorial content is just amazing, an utter sensation and perfect for the season. I'm wanting to jump right into some swim shorts and reenact the scenarios portrayed within the issue. Yeah, these beach shoots are done a thousand times over but when the outcome is this strong, who cares? The Vogue Paris team have created something fresh and rejuvenating - just how I want a summer issue to be.

I'm surprised Emmanuelle didn't put out multiple covers, a one with Andreea and another with Anja. It would have made sense, even more so with an Anja cover, because she's featured more than Andreea. Imagine a cover shot with both models on! Although I am very satisfied with the cover we have.

Mario Sorrenti's story with Anja and Andreea is perfect - couldn't be more perfect, really. There's a few shots I fawn over. I won't even begin to select a favourite. They're all equally stunning and visually stimulating. Emmanuelle's styling empowers the images here and her aesthetic is evident even with the lack of clothing. For those complaining about the lack of clothing: Geraldine Sagilo has given readers wearable summer outfits (some more wearable than others), in the supplement stories. We then have Hilary Rhoda's editorial which is a breath of fresh air. Hilary looks absolutely gorgeous, she's a welcomed addition to Alt's batch of Vogue girls. Marie Chaix's styling is superb, I'm a total sucker for monochrome. Malgosia Bela's Bijoux pictures are fantastic too, she has such a demanding presence in everything she shoots.

So, basically, loving the editorial content, as I always do. I ordered a copy online to get the supplement and cannot wait to receive it.

how many times has this theme appeared in the magazine?

If you are a true 'cover' fan, then the cover alone is worth the purchase. I don't really need to see anything else. Doesn't even matter that I don't really like any of the super-imposed nude editorials.

Where are the clothes? All I see is boobs

Yeah, seriously, I'm all for gratuitous nudity, but there are more clothes in a Pirelli calendar than this.

And while I'm glad Alt used Andreea, couldn't she have a least given her a solo editorial? No, instead, we are forced to see more of Anja.

I like Anja, but damn, like getfashion pointed out above, Alt is so predictable with her model choices. I always realized that Roitfeld was good at pushing new faces, and I give her even more credit now, the entire modeling industry seems a bit stagnant and lost without her there to declare the next new star.

I really think Andreea should have gotten a solo editorial considering she was on the cover. Her body is actually to die for.

^^I totally agree. I'm all for nudity too, but didn't she said that under her leadership we were going to see ‘maybe just one nipple’ insinuating with a little bit of disdain that what Carine did was sometimes too much? She was really pretentious saying that, and instead of one nipple we have seen hundreds in this issue. Again, I do love nudity and wouldn't have care if there weren't a single piece of cloth in the whole issue, but it feels so... contradictory and silly.

Although that fact sums up what the magazine is today: a complete nonsense, there’s no vision, no direction. Sometimes we get a pretended ‘glamorous’ shot (Sasha’s cover), sometimes a beach shot à la Bensimon, the next day something Newtonesque (if only…), then a Peruvian costume party or just Kate Moss disguised as Bowie…

God, Emmanuelle is so blasé and terribly untalented. She belongs to Elle…
