Vogue Runway will be subscription only. | the Fashion Spot

Vogue Runway will be subscription only.

Nowadays, I either come here, check WWD and Tagwalk, or just watch the shows live
I really enjoyed Now Fashion and Living (something?) which a few years ago had runway photos right away. Now fashion has gotten a bit slow now a days.

WWD I think is one of websites still has quickest update images of shows compared with Vogue Runway but with less quality.

I do agree fashion needs to have a website as an archive for you to see past collections and even campaigns/publicity wise. And not just for one country... since Vogue is in various countries as a magazine, I do think they could consider expand far more their archive to others brands. But yet again this will only allow for Vogue monopolise it.

Every day I wonder what the state of Condé Nast would be if they didn’t manage to lose $100 million (not a typo) somehow converting style.com to an e-commerce website unsuccessfully.

Does anyone know of an alternative to Livingly? Massive HQ photos and multiple angles of runway shows and details from SS 2000 onwards just deleted like the Library of Alexandria.

I go for Tagwalk but Vogue Runway's quality is far superior in terms of photography and detailed photos of the looks.
Don't care for the reviews, though, they're all bought anyway

Do they have videos from before Fall 2006? They changed the format that season, and anything prior to that was gone when they redesigned the Style.com website over a decade ago

Right in time for the most eventful Fa$$$hion Week to happen in many years…

Oh well. Me and my Spotlight account will survive. Good luck to them if they think this move will result in an increase rather than decrease in revenues - they’ll surely need it. Almost all of the younger HF fans on social media rely on VR for their images.

Livingly’s original source comes from Spotlight, which was previously called Imaxtree. You must work in fashion and pay a subscription fee in order to access those photographs as well… hence why I have no motivation to become a Vogue subscriber in the name of this.

Your best bet is using TheImpression (and a good paywall blocker if you must) - Kendam does a decent job without a paywall, but typically doesn’t upload all images from the show that Spotlight offers.

wait so they are charging for a digital vogue.com account and now for the app? Two separate charges?
I don't even know why I have that vogue.com account I never read any articles, just to look at runway images.

isn't tagwalk a paywall now too?

After hearing this news I’ve deleted the Vogue app, it could have been a good fashion social network but I was only really interested in Vogue Runway and not Condé Nash’s half-***ed attempt at a social media platform.

CN does not seem to care about their digital product aside from the website and social media accounts. The archive is still broken (you can’t subscribe but can bypass the paywall with one click) and then the Italian archive is stuck in the 2010s and should have been redesigned long ago.

Deleted the app and all private data the moment I got the pop-up with their fantastic offer. There is literally nothing I would ever pay for in the app. The quality of the pictures from the early '00s is absolutely shameful, and so is the quality of journalism. I have no interest in reading bland, poorly researched reviews, let alone subscribing to such service and paying for it. The rest of the app was irrelevant anyway, so good riddance.

It's just a bit ridiculous they haven't learned anything from the flop of style.com. Let's just collectively pray that this will be another flop, and that we'll be able to move on to something better.
