Vogue Russia December 2015 : Sasha Luss by Alexi Lubomirski

Awful cover. I hate the pose and the hair.
Also, her third cover already..?

I think I would be sold by this image if that was for a shampoo campaign, but no, not on a Vogue cover.

this was on the november issue, might be a preview...?

^ I wish they would have used this shot for a cover, it would have stand out way more on newsstand.

The preview photo is gorgeous! Unfortunately, the cover shot is just so fake looking nothing on it works for me.

the second shot is SO much better. It would have made a stunning cover!

The retouching is too much - and not needed, she's way too gorgeous.

The pose of the second pic is really good ! So it is more interesting than the first.

^I find it kinda cheesy and not very HF... not a single pic would have worked better as a cover imo :(

The editorial is beautiful.
The cover Looks amateur.

Sadly, I agree with you. I think the setting and styling had a lot of potential, Alexei could've gotten a lot of iconic shots (think Uma Thurman for US Vogue around the time Kill Bill got released). The opening shot and the Philip Plein one are the best, the rest looks way too awkward. It's mainly how relaxed and goofy she looks notwithstanding the fact that she's supposed to be way up in the sky with a bunch of serious looking trades.

The rest of the features looks ok. I'm definitely warming to Odette Pavlova, such an interesting look. The styling in that feature too looks spectacular.

Thanks so much for posting, Sensation!! :flower:
