Vogue Russia May 2015: Emily DiDonato by Mariano Vivanco

Could pass for a less spectacular Daria cover for Vogue Paris by Alt.

this would have been perfect if they had given her some bit of lip colour maybe something more orangey

I find Emily so beautiful yet she bores me Everytime.

Well, I like the edits, they are nice. The other two are better than than main one I think?

This magazine is consistent in producing lackluster and bland editorials. It doesn't even make the clothes look appealing, fun and worth buying. The Edit, at this point, puts Vogue Russia to shame.

Vogue Eussia really needs to shake up from the EIC all the way down to whoever is responsible for fashion and art. The layout is dead. The fashion is dead. Everything is just dead. There also needs to be a shakeup in the photographer roster. Stop using Vivanco because it does not radiate the aesthetics of Russian Vogue. I'd say keep Txema Yeste. Also, if I were to decide, I'd fire Olga Dunina (her work is always bland or sometimes a mess) and Svetlana. I'll keep Ekaterina Mukhina, her work before was lovely. I'll also fire the tasteless EIC who I always forgot the name of.

Everytime I open VR threads, I'm always ready to criticize their work and it's not the type wherein you have this optimism that the content will makeup for the lackluster cover. The content always complements the lackluster cover and sometimes make the magazine drier.

What an underwhelming cover editorial. I'm surprised this went past so many people and nobody noticed the lack of coherence fashion. My favourite so far is Yeste's editorial with Irina and Dasha, but then again they've been printing something like this every month. I was really hoping VR would, like Interview Russia's doing right now, push the boundaries in terms of material for the next year or so, what with their impending censorship looming.

well, Interview Russia has a different editor-in-chief:rolleyes:
Since Victoria has taken over, I rarely like anything VR comes up with

I know, it's actually quite sad. Vogue Russia used to be one of the top Vogue editions when Doletskaya was still in charge. They were big on fashion and had such a tongue-in-the-cheek take on social commentary. Now we get neither with Viktoriya. What baffles me even more is that she's got all the resources: the best stylists in the country, top photographers such as Demarchelier and Roversi, still get backing from major fashion rands, and yet the end result is almost always flat. Who knows, maybe the confinement is what they'll need to flourish? Look at China, they're doing tremendous right now.

What can you expect from women who came from Tatler? I always said that Doletskaya is a genius - what she does for Interview is amazing and I keep imagining how would Vogue Russia look if she still was in charge.
