Vogue Russia January 2020 : Claudia Schiffer by Cunyet Akeroglu

Alright, so this might just have to be the first issue of Vogue Russia I buy since March 2018 with Luna Bijl because those editorial previews with Claudia are giving me everything - especially that closeup shot! Can only echo the sentiments of @mikel as to WHY they didn't use that for the cover.

Claudia, laying down and touching her hair is enough for me when it’s looking that fabulous!
She can almost make me want to buy Virginie’s Chanel...

^^^ LOL

Blowup sexdolls in Chanel needs to be the label’s new campaign concept.

I like this cover somewhat: strong composition and layout seems an alien offering these amateur days, so I'll take what I can. A select with eye contact would be nice— although maybe best her eyes are closed, since she seems to bear a strong resemblance to Chelsea Handler these days in her portrait shot.

Glad VR seems to be rediscovering its identity again. Hope they’ll feature more Eastern Eurupean models and their more decadent tastes rather than just cop to be another gimmicky woke Vogue with no fashion personality of its own (like Anna’s and Edward’s).

As if anyone today would dare even think about something like that, especially Virginie lol. You just know there'd be a particular group of amish virgins offended to death by the campaign, forcing the house to make a public statement/apology and pull it back from all publishers and social media. That's the kind of world we live in, lol
But the idea is genius and now I need to see blowup sexdolls dressed in Chanel. Would absolutely live for it!!

Highlight of the issue remains Claudia's portrait for me. Absolutely wonderful, I'd love to frame it and put it on my walls. She looks breathtaking! As for the rest, it's not impressive. Weird angles in Claudia's editorial are giving me PTSD from that horrible Vogue Italia disaster by Schorr. Nora Attal's editorial is quite stunning. It's the kind of forest thing Edward tries doing every month but fails miserably. The rest is mediocre, nothing memorable at all. I guess for me, that's 1.7/5 for Russia this month. Better than some other editions for sure...

^^^ They absolutely copped the laying down poses from Collier— and did it better. Claudia doesn’t look like a heavy dead fish in these shots.

Never liked Claudia, but there’s no denying she can look gorgeous when shot by the right eye, with Ellen being one of the best photographers to bring out her full potential. This is decent, and at least she’s not retouched to resemble wax figure like when Giampaolo shot her. She admittedly has aged very well, unlike some other Supers. She’s still in need of a supreme shoot for her comeback… and Fabien is the only one that I can see having the eye in these dire days to bring that to reality: Can you imagine an Interview-esque story shot by Fabien and styled by Karl Templer…???

Very stunning head shot and they use that terrible picture for the cover?
