W Volume #4 : Millie Bobby Brown & Letitia Wright by Alasdair McLellan

And to think I complain about Kaia Gerber being on covers because of her age.

"Icon for a generation" ...I can't imagine that particular generation forms a large proportion of the W readership.

There must be a real shortage of mature women in the entertainment industry if someone like Millie Bobby Brown can get this cover. Just because she's not not sexualised doesn't make it ok for a 14-year old to cover fashion magazines. Someone should brief the W team that 'new' doesn't mean young! But maybe they're hoping the Stranger Things stan will buy this sad rag. Spoiler alert: they won't.

She looks fine on the cover, very young, even with that 60s bouffaint. But at this stage I'm convinced 90% of all magazine art directors just make it up as they go along. There's nothing striking about this new 'ugly layout' trend.

Millie looks lovely but what on earth is she doing on a W cover? It gets worse the further we go with W, it's such a tired magazine. It deserves a long break. Lovely to see Letitia's name here but that shoot is... questionable. Love the energy tho.

They're now doing an 'Insta-zine'! Why not just fold the magazine altogether and continue with this? 2.5K Likes from a 3 million follower base. I'm guessing not even this little effort is working for them.

I mean, I get that they’re doing “Volumes” now, but why on earth does the art direction have to be terrible? Goodness. The font? The colors? The shadow?

i like these two girls but im so over this obsession with literal kids and the art direction looks awful

Oh my goodness this magazine is so lost. I don't like Millie (I actually think her attitude has become insufferable after her success..) but the problem here is not my personal opinion of her.. It's that she is a kid
All the covers are just bad, the art direction is so pointless and childish.

W must be feeling like...

Well, at least it’s nice to see Letitia on the cover.

Letitia Wright is a beautiful woman, but I absolutely hate her cover.
Why is the black woman screaming and looking crazy, while the little white girl is all soft and feminine??
I hate everything about it. This stupid magazine needs to go away.

This is so depressing. When you think about what this publication used to be and what it's now become, it's a really sad state of affairs. No wonder people aren't buying magazines anymore when this is what's on offer.

Where did the glamour go, where did the fun go? People used to care about making great covers.

What a sad downfall of what used to be a great magazine. As for the covers this month. What the is up with the font and those colors? Its like it was made by junior high graphic design student. Even then I think they would do better.
