Walter Van Beirendonck S/S 2015 Paris

I'm in love with those three Happi kimono. The sunglasses reminds me of Japanese sci-fi superhero, like Ultraman for example.

his technical prowess is absolutely flawless. it sometimes makes me forget how flashy his work can be.

Yes! Loving his Japanese culture/pop culture influences but always still very unmistakably Walter.

Besides Rei, Walter is the only other one I can think of that can perfectly pull off such visionary, fevered whimsy with such a serious, deadpan attitude so smoothly. They never reek of clumsiness, irony, camp, or kitsch. And he's never heavy-handed.

Those i-D, Dazed types must be wetting themselves with anticipation for all the pieces they're be pulling for editorials.

If we talk about creativity it's certainly there. Very colorful and fun collection.

I started nicely, but it just got really weird in the end... I mean... Who's gonna buy the ballerina-tulle jackets? Looks insane
