I can die knowing that I did my best to support her!! But damn it, every time I listen to it I feel like it's 2013 and I'm dancing at a summer party in my wedges, tank top, owl necklace and floral mini skirt with two to three layers of flounce. It is not the type of nostalgia that I need.

It's a single from the Barbie soundtrack. In the music video she plays with miniature versions of her past outfits, there's a behind-the-scenes video too (which I haven't seen) that might explain the look more but I don't think she's neccessarily taking on that pin-up style long term.
