What bag would you bring . . .

but is the army green with grommets a bag to wear with filmy tops, short skirts and sandals?

i think so...ive seen one of the olsen twins carrying hers and she carries it with all kinds of outfits (not sure if thats a recommendation to you or not :p) but i think it would be ok. my vote is definately white or green BV. B)

When travelling you always want to be fashionable but in my case function almost always wins out. My husband hates it but I find I can't travel without three bags. I know these aren't the options you mentioned but it is more about what works for travel.

I am from Miami and visit my family there twice a year. I take a small black chanel bag for night since I generally wear black at night, yes even in Miami, since you don't go out there until after dark.

During the day for running here and there a light weight shoulder bag I like the coach version that has the double strap so I can wear it long across my body or short on my shoulder.

For going shopping, to lunch, or earlier dinner with my parents I'll bring my LV looping or prada shopper in off-white leather. Your Gucci bowling would be good.

I know I have probably confused you more sorry.:(

hmmm, somehow i missed the gucci bowling on your original list, please add that to my suggestions!

ha ha! it seems every bag I listed got a vote except the paddington. but I appreciate the commentary anyway and I like the validation that this is a true dilemma, and not just my screwy head. whatever bag I bring, I will think of all of you.

and tallulah, I am that way with shoes -- can't have fewer than 3 pairs regardless of the length of stay. I love the messenger idea and have actually been looking for one I like for a long time. but unfortunately, I can't possibly bring more than one day bag and I won't have the patience to switch bags. what I would really love for hot weather excursions like this one is a really nice fabric tote -- something lighweight (and packable so I could justify bringing two bags), practical (could even bring it to the beach), and yet nice enough (no jute "I heart st. barts) to wear with regular clothes.

if you ever find that messenger could you let me know? i spent more of my day yesterday than i care to admit searching, sadly with nothing to show for it...

Lilygirl - have ever looked into the packable Longchamp bags. They are really lightweight durable and come in all different styles, sizes, and colors.

I vote the BV hobo -- It goes with just about everything, it's light, fits a lot and great for warm weather. It's also not as fragile as say the python -- I wouldn't want to see what happens if you brush it up against something against the direction of the scales.

My second choice would be LV becuase it's also not fragile, goes with a lot, and can carry quite a bit. But the hobo seems more comfertable as you can put it over your shoulder and have your hands free, and it seems like it would take up less room.

Have a great trip :)

the Gucci bowling bag...it is large enough to tote stuff around in and it's a fun colour!

well, my DH learned of my distress and bought me a hogan messenger (the new one with the plain flap that apparently several celebs are carrying) and I'm surprised to say I like it! the leather is beautiful, but the best thing is the color which is a bordeaux much like the balenciaga bordeaux, perhaps a little lighter. the size and shape are really quite perfect and the color is one of those nice non-black neutrals that goes with a lot of things. I'm not 100% if I'll bring it, but isn't that sweet?

LV Speedy....indestructible, would be safe to stow during flight without worrying about scratches, and looks good with everything. I got mine recently and it is going everywhere with me. ;)
