What Colors Are You Wearing On Your Fingers And Toes?

I don't think it's silly. It's what I've read. That you need to let your nails breathe 3 weeks out of the year to keep them healthy. I'm not going to argue about this. That would be silly :innocent:

Why on earth do your nails need to breathe?  They dont have lungs for goodness sakes....Just keep on polishing...no need for breathers, thats silly!
why the rolling eyes? It's a FACT! if you always paint your nails they will turn YELLOW! Skin BREATHES    you knew that right? and so do your nails! by the way I don't have a problem being silly!~

true true and true. i agree with Laura and Andora. I remember in 6th grade, i would just repaint new polish over my chipped ones.  :woot: then my nails turned yellow and got weak. my mom told me nails need to be free of those chemicals and "breate." I never adhere to the 3 week rule, cos i LOVE polish, but i do let them go for a few days or a week, and keep them buffed.

Really? I heard you're supposed to let them breathe for something like 3 weeks out of the year?
I heard that too, hmmmmm..

Today, Essie Ballet Slippers on toes, OPI Candlelight on hands.

Essie Potato Fields on my fingers (pretty darn clear after two coats, but gives a healthy sheen)
OPI Bogota Blackberry on toes

red toes, red fingernails. I think it is Revlon. I won't pay more than 5.50 for nail polish. THAT IS SILLY.   ;) ;) ;)

Well yes, Skin does absorb and secrete... But nails are not made of skin....nails are made purely of Keratin so in essence nails do not "breathe". And nails turn yellow because of many factors...Certain colors contain ingredients that stain the nail (mostly reds) Was a proper base coat used? IN most cases, a light buffing will remove the stain. But if you wear reds (or most dark colors) all the time chances are its a bit harder to remove.

Did you read this from a reputable well known source or just some fashion mag?...So hence forth, it will make no difference to stop wearing polish for three weeks because it takes approximately 2 and a half to 3 months for the nail to grow completely from cuticle to tip. If you'd like another refrence point please read Nails magazine issue feb of 92 with a feature article on this very subject.

Hard Candy's Trailer Trash--one coat only. I know it sounds bad, but my nails are short and I wanted a silvery-shimmery look.

I have an obsene amount of nail polish. So, I'm not sure of the brands or the real color names.

I have a light purple base with pastel pink polka dots on my fingers. And the same on my toes, only the colors are inverted. B)

Gallery 'Blue Sundae' with Spectacular 'Amethyst Sparkle' over it.

finger & toes:

#120 beige particule micro-beige by Christian Dior

I love light shimmering polish for the summer...

NAILS- OPI "day at the peach"
TOES- OPI "i'm not really a waitress"

Ooooh let's see, right now I am really loving this turquoise color and a dark blueberry color. I only wear them on my toes. Like my fingers to be clean and save the color punch for my toes. These colors look great with denim, white, black, and pretty much everything I'm wearing for summer.

Right now I have on Revlon's Super Top Speed Nail Polish in Zippy on my toes and finger nails. It's a pretty, bright reddish pink with some orange shimmer in it, great for summer time. ;) B)

Honeypot 'Tigress' - a dark peacock-green with gold overglaze on top.

I usually wear no polish or just a base coat/transparent polish on my fingers.
For my toes, it's usually Maybelline Ultra Lasting "Vampy Red" (no. 114) - the PERFECT red colour

On Fingers an Toes ~ Revlon Limited Edition Peach Twist Shimmer nail polish.. soo pretty
