What company makes good hair styling wax ?

I really love the Control Paste from Aveda. It's the best I've ever used, and I've tried alot.

I'm gonna have to second that. I love it too.

Any other recs?
Anyone tried Loreal's new Texturize! Sculpting Wax?

Osmo 'Shaper', probably the best styling pomade i've ever used, and it smells good.

Definitely Aveda. bumble & bumble's sumo wax is also very good.

Is wax the key to holding a fringe together? My fringe always fall apart!! I need something to keep my fringe together for the whole day. I brought Garniers polishing wax and it just made my fringe separate into pieces of hair. Yes it held those pieces of hair together but it didn't hold the whole fringe.. can anyone reccomend a good wax or hairspray for fringes??

the gatsby series for guys works wonders.
also, try american crew... pomade works better than fiber, i'm lead to believe.

I use Schwarzkopf and its not too bad. But I use it in combination with fiber, to get that extra hold.

I used to use American Crew Fiber... however the hold wasn't as good as i thought it would've been.

i was about to make a thread, good thing i searched.

i've been using Beyond the Zone's Stiff Head,
my friend was using it, and i borrowed some when i was a kid, and have stuck to it ever since. i don't much care for it, doesn't work as well as i would like for it to, and it kind of smells...

but i'm very loyal, and tend to stick to things, plus it's cheap.
kind of the same reason i've been going to the same Asian place for haircuts for 10 years now, even though they don't that great of a job, i keep going back instead of looking for another place.

i'm going to try that Aveda...thanks for the info:flower:

Actually I want to update my recommendation. I still like Aveda control paste, but I also have been using one of their newer products from the men's line recently. It's called grooming clay. It's like control paste, but it's is more invisible when you put it on. Like no sticky or shiny finish at all. You use it in the same way though, just rub a daub in your palms until it's all warm and smooth it in. It's for men but works for any short hair of course.

re-bumping this thread.
because it's too hot here in NYC to be running around with long hair so i cut mine, and now that it is short again i need something to style it.

i was using Aveda men, grooming clay to help straighten my hair every now and then

it's good but it doesn't have much of a hold, my hair won't stay in place!
i've seen some amazing hairstyles here and i always wonder what they use. it has hold but it looks so soft and touchable...:woot:

and then they play with it and it stays the way they move it
