They still carry the Versus line in the New York store...apparently they reduced the size of the line and pulled it off the runway, most likely in an effort to save money.
I think it must be difficult, now there arr a lot of new designers, young people and so...so all thos brands who used to have other little brands, less expensive are now dissapearing, thank god See by chloé didn't!
I was speaking to someone who works for them - she said it's been in planning for a long time, to cut out all the other lines as these were licensed and Versace felt they were bad for the image of the company. So, the Versace Jeans Couture, Classic V2, Istante, Sport etc. etc. will all be stopped or phased out when the licenses expire.
I have just met the ex-designer for Versus, who has now set up her own label. Really beautiful stuff
I think Istante is for the "more mature lady" ? Don't know for sure but I think this is how it was marketed. I actually have a black Istante dress and it's very Moschino Cheap & Chic, not old-ladyish at all and very un-Versace
