Alexander Wang?
He skipped NYFW after the controversy and come back few month ago.
What's his current path and reputation?

This might be for another thread ("Which Designer Should Be At Which House?") but I think Haider would do great as successor to Giorgio Armani.

If he happens to be a free agent next year, Glenn Martens 100% for Givenchy.

^ yeah there’s a thread somewhere where members get all turned on just by the very thought of a designer going corporate.

‘hmm Olivier at Chanel! so hot!’ ‘Lemaire bought by Kering! can’t handle the thought!’

Let me find the link for you.

^Everytime I read those posts, I always want to report it w/ a "harassment" reason.

I wonder what happened to the old Project Alabama line. Did the little old ladies who stitched the clothes together pass away? Did those old-fashioned American quilting techniques die out? Or was it just somebody's project that was never intended to be an ongoing thing in the first place?

^ lol me too, like when you just saw a great collection, stendhal syndrome's kicking in and it's amazing.. only for someone to come 'ugh my heart aches seeing so much talent wasted on a sad little label!! why is Kering sleeping on this!?'.. just.. yeah, harassment, thread disruption, hatred, lewd commentary.

Now is call Alabama Chanin.

^Check #74. Some already asked and I replied to her question.

Charles Anastase? He had this lovely subversive girlie line, but I can't find any trace of his label after about 2011.

No joke, I saw this thread and his name was the first thing to pop into my head. His IG is pretty barren, no mention of making new clothes or art. Wonder if he's sorta blacklisted since he did this cheeky little thing called "not paying the people you hired."
Shame, bc I really liked his work and his girly style would've gotten him a decent niche audience at least.

I remember that! There were some angry comments on facebook I think? About him not paying vendors. It definitely makes for people unwilling to deal with you in the future, if you can't pay the people who make your clothes. Shame the fast fashion labels who pulled this same stunt with their factories during early covid, couldn't get the same lesson.

The 2008 recession took down so many independent designers and magazines in its wake, it's sad. I wonder who was bankrolling his label before, because as you said, he had a good cool-girl niche audience, if he'd been able to stick it out he could have had a similar audience to Simone Rocha, Molly Goddard or Shushu/Tong.

What happened to Josef Font from Delpozo? Also is Delpozo still showing? I feel like after he left the brand kinda disappeared. Also was Poiret closed after just one collection? Also Elisa Palomino

Delpozo originally replaced Josep Font with Lutz Huelle in late 2018, with the aim of affordable price points and a diversified business. Huelle's debut ready-to-wear collection was planned unveiled at London Fashion Week in September 2019, but they postponed last minute. Meanwhile, Delpozo wass sold to an anonymous buyer, business collapses and stores close. In April 2021, Huelle one-sidedly announced the end of his partnership with only a pre-collection and a Anthropologie collaboration under his direction.

Poiret did two collections, Fall'18 and Spring'19. They received mostly praise for showcasing Poiret's Orientalism through a Asian POV, but Yiqing Yin left for undisclosed reasons in December 2018. If it was due to low sales, I believe that Shinsegae was stupid and impatient (no brand revival happens in two seasons). Since then, Poiret has rebranded itself as a beauty brand. I pray that Della Valle buys it off Shinsegae and repositions it as another Schiaparelli.

Couldn't find a better thread to ask this in, but due to my recent vintage Elle France collecting, I have to ask... is Tan Guidicelli still alive? I can't seem to find much about him online at all. His designs always catch my attention!
