I'm honestly surprised that countries such as South Africa, Belgium, Singapore, and Argentina don't have their own Vogues. It's odd that such countries as China and India, both having booming fashion scenes, only recently began publishing their own editions of Vogue.

What other countries are in need of Vogue? haha

Hmmm, I think that South Africa should. They have very gorgeou, underrated models there. I know for a fact that Taiwan does for their own.

But to be honest, I don't think its good to have too many editions of Vogue as that will possibly mean that the quality will slip.
Case in point: Vogue Australia. :judge:

Ugh, Vogue Australia sucks. It reprints WAY too much.

Oh, I'd love a new Vogue that doesn't feature reprints. Haha. I'd love it if Vogue India didn't reprint, but I doubt they'd adhere to that.

^^ Vogue India is featuring Gemma on the cover for their first issue! :brows:

If each regional Vogue could focus on local talent within that country, it could be very interesting to the global fashion community. But splashing the same old thing all over the planet is redundant and ridiculous, especially when there is so much emphasis on particular markets that already get far too much press. :innocent:

Edit: Gemma? With all the beauty in India? I'm sorry but I think that is really sad.

gemma also was the main model of vogue china's first issue ^

Maybe there could be a Middle East vogue.

I'd love to see a Vogue Canada (for sure), Vogue South Africa (or any African country, but I imagine South Africa has the biggest fashion scene on the continent,) and a Middle Eastern Vogue would be so cool :D

think the same eventhough... I guess some "national" magazines are already doing this job...and CondeNast needn't to come and take the role...
anyway, I think there're enough Vogues around the world and as you all underline most of them reprint the big Vogue (and esp. the Vogue US) which is pretty bad then I don't see the point in doing other Vogue...
either you really work with your national people and then invite big names or you just don't do it...

well they tried a cosmo eastafrica that had like 10 pages of local content and more than 100 of foreign content...as everyone had guessed it flopped! If vogue is to move to other territories they should steer clear from the australia route, most people want to read a magazine that relates to what is happening in their countries not some fall winter trend report fo a country that never has winter.

^ haha, are you kidding? I'm in Aus right now and it's freezing!!

Vogue Ireland!

Gawd.....it sounds so...................wrong. Still, we needs some kind of reputable fashion publication...we've only got Tatler or Image.....eurgh

I've always said this - there's no reason why we shouldn't have an Elle Ireland. Elles have a more streetwise view of the world, so can 'lower' themselves to cover topics of regional interest. And in Ireland, there are plenty of local designers, models, musicians, artists, hotels, pubs, clubs and most importantly, shops, to fill the pages with unique content. Vuitton, Gucci etc is for sale in the main regional cities via Brown Thomas. The stores are there, the money is there.

Even some sort of quarterly publication would sell, with a readership both at home and in the UK.

The magazines that already exist here, some have OK content, but what they lack is first-class design. Others are really a waste of the glossy paper they print on.

completely agree with you on that!

And i think the question should be " which countries do Vogue need?"

For sure!
Canadians need to show the world that we're fashionable too! ^_^
