MMVA show promises something for everyone

Sticking to their longstanding mandate of throwing together a motley crew of pop culture's glitziest stars and making them play nice for the amusement of the Canadian viewing public, this year's MuchMusic Video Awards will play host to everyone from the brattiest rich kids on TV, a Spice Girl and an escaped Guantanamo Bay prisoner (in the movies, at least).
This year's crop of MMVA presenters was unveiled yesterday. And while the lineup is as diverse as ever (past presenters have included everyone from Britney Spears to the Beastie Boys), this year's crack-team of envelope-openers is sure to please anyone with a Hills addiction.
Cast members Whitney Port and Brody Jenner are both on the guest list. Gossip Girl's Chace Crawford will be there, as will The Office's Rainn Wilson and Harold and Kumar's Kal Penn.

MMVAs airs Sunday, June 15.

She is going to be a presenter at the MMVA this year. Such a great gig for her

Hills fans rejoice: the reality hit has spawned a new series.
A source tells the new issue of Us Weekly (on newsstands now) that MTV is prepping a show in which Whitney Port, 23, becomes bicoastal while working for fashion PR firm People’s Revolution — and befriends a group of NYC gals (including socialite Olivia Palermo).
Says the insider: “There will be more blondes in the city than you ever expected!”

Hills Spinoff Will Not Include Olivia Palermo

MTV is reportedly planning a spin-off for The Hills starring New York native Whitney Port, who will travel bicoastally while working for fashion PR firm, People's Revolution, according to US Weekly. Lame, we know.
But! Hidden in the second part of the story is the little detail that Ms. Port will befriend a group of New York girls, including Socialite Rank casualty Olivia Palermo. So yes, we dropped our chicken and broccoli and immediately dialed Ms. Palermo's publicist, who batted aside the rumors, which typically means it's totally true.
Here's what Ms. Palermo's rep told the Daily Transom over the phone:

"She is not involved. I am aware of the spin-off show but Olivia has no formal plans to appear on it at this time. If she makes an appearance, it will be completely organically. I'm not saying that she couldn't appear on an episode if she were attending an event where they were filming, but we are not currently in talks with the network. As far as I know, the two have never met and they're certainly not friends. Olivia is not the kind of girl who is going to be paid to be friends with someone."
