Does anyone recognize the designer of the tight backless dress she wore while out to dinner with Jay and to Olivia's party? She wore it in black and a metallic gold. Its so beautiful yet simple.

Also her hair and make-up were perfect in every scene. Ugh I'm jealous!

she obviously has a stylist for the show --i'm sure they all do. and she is also handed pretty much every piece of dvf clothing. i think she's adorable, but do i think she naturally has style? not really. maybe nyc will change her...

oh man that Aussie guy gives me a headeache, the way he speaks makes me ill that is not how Australian people sound!! he sounds like such a toss..how did he end up on NYC? surely she can do better!!
I like Olivia she's got some fire, besides we know it's all edited and fake, as is all MTV reality shows..but it's always entertaining!

I just watched the City and I like it so much better than the Hills! I think it will be my new guilty pleasure Whitney looked stunning in the black mini dress she wore on the first date with Jay that was shown. Olivia Palermo looked very pretty but wow she was a bit 'fake', especially in that scene where they were getting the shoes signed by Manolo and she's talking about her 'deb' ball! haha.

but the name of his band Tamarama confirmed he was aussie.

Olivia is honestly goooorgeous! I'm looking forwards to seeing more of the show. The clothes look really great....but i can't stop myself laughing everytime i see them "working" fashionista.com basically leaked/revealed that the girls don't actually work there at all. They sit at the desks and pretend to work just for the filming...meanwhile the poor actual workers at DVF have to move off their desks for them.

Why does everything on The City look like something one could pick up at Urban Outfitters? Not that she doesn't look good, because she does -- but it just strikes me as so casual L.A. It will be interesting to see if and how her style evolves.

To me Whitney seemed to be playing dress-up. Some of her outfits were too-short and she looked uncomfortable in her heels tugging at her too-short skirts. I think it's strange that her style on the show bears no resemblance to what we see her wear in candids where she usually looks very casual.
