As I was reading the Taiwanese version of Madame Figaro there was a feature on Alber Albaz. It said that the owner of a Taiwanese newspaper bought out Lanvin. I find that hard to believe. Is it true? Can anyone confirm this? Thanks

oops i forgot to add woman at the end of newspaper. SO this is true? If so, how much do you think Lanvin must of been worth?

Her name is Shaw-Lan. Wang (Madame Wang). Her family owns one of the largest News Publish Company in Taiwan (UDN News)

Here's a pic of her with Jet Li on her left and dunno who on ther right. She turns up at some award shows in Taiwan.

Oh how interesting... it's refreshing to see he's not owned by some big company like Gucci or LVHM

sorry to say, but I think Ms. Wang does look a bit like a freak. I wonder how Alber gets along with her? Hehe... other than the fact that she's the $$$ supplier...

only the money supplier? :o
well, maybe she is not a beauty, but she has a beautiful mind

ysl has control?...no they don't...why would you think that?...ysl doesn't have control of anything...(gucci controls ysl)...and alber used to work for ysl...that's the only ysl connection as far as i know...;)

and the article in the link i posted speaks about their relationship a bit...
they seem to get along quite well...he speaks highly of her and her support of him...
he just signed a long-term contract...so that would indicate he's pretty darn happy...
:flower:

thanks for clearing up the ownership grey. yes it's good to hear that someone cares about fashion in taiwan and will put out financial support for the cause. unlike others who are just enjoying the whole "model boom" in taiwan and senselessly drooling over over rated models that don't deserve their fame. how are the "top" models in taiwan "international" when they have only appeared in the main shows once or twice? I've notice that Alber have been using some asian girls that are not on the main runways, and I think it has to do with pleasing the fashion crowd in Taiwan. just a thought...
