Why do people hate Kate Moss?

I think the 'hate' has increased for a couple reasons - the drug issue and her obvious aging. Something about fear of aging translating to hate and disgust of anyone who should simulatneously carry the top model label and sundamage/wrinkles. Used to be, Kate's only detractors were anti-"heroin chic", anti-"waif", or men who wanted boobs on models. But now the insults are very personal. Disturbing if you asked me.

I think Kate's overrated. She's too skinny to be imitating the voluptuous Marilyn Monroe, who was physically perfect. But sometimes I wonder why is there still so much hype about Monroe; she's been dead for how long? Her face is STILL on t-shirts and purses. I've got to admit that that woman definitely has longevity, along with Elvis.

maybe its marilyn who's overrated? i think so. it's wierd because both marilyn monroe and kate moss have .7 waist to hip ratio's. i thought those photos were awesome.

I love those pictures when Kate Moss is potrayed as Marilyn Monroe!
They are my favourite editorial with her. I'm a huge Marilyn fan and also a pretty recent Kate fan and I don't take those pictures as an insult. Or any other homage pictures to Marilyn. Just because Marilyn was curvy and Kate is really thin doesen't mean that she hasn't got the right to potray Marilyn in my opinon. I think it's great that someone as unconventinal as Kate does this. It wouldn't bother me if a black, asian or hispanic woman were potrayed as Marilyn either. I guess when someone is as worshiped and loved as Marilyn a lot of people get upset by this kind of thing. And I think that is really silly and bigotred.
This may sound strange but even though I consider Marilyn Monroe to be the most beautiful woman of all time I don't think she was perfect on the outside or on the inside. I don't think anyone is.

Her style is not GREAT, it is just a little different. If she was a wonderful model, person and MOTHER then she would be fantastic - esp to juggle all three at the same time. Honestly she doesn't seem too bright, let's hope little Lila-Grace won't inherit her brains.
