Why Do Some Designer Bags Go On Sale & Not Others?

Is it true that LV burns (or somehow disposes of) old stock as opposed to discounting it and having it end up in outlet stores/websites similar to the way you can find Prada anywhere.

No, all of the old stock is availble to employees at a significant discount. Or so I've heard.

I think LV has an outlet somewhere close to Boston  well that's what i heard

nope...definatelly not around here. I live in Boston and we have an LV store and our bloomies, saks, and neimans don't even sell LV. None of our outlets do either.

Ok everyone here is the truth about the burning of LV bags. I have a friend who works for the company. THis is inside info so i've heard. THey do have special sales for the employees, but whatever is left over is burned. Yes horrible but true.

Thats so wasteful (and is done because of the companies' greed ) - yet another reason to boycott that brand.

Makes me really angry

I've gone off LV completely since reading this and their bags aren't that special either, quite boring actually! Wish they'd burn the lot

Why would they bury their bags just because they dont want them to go on sale? Such a waste!

Well its greed so they can keep their prices as high as possible.

to add:I'm gonna support new designers who need my cash coz LV have made enough money IMHO.

I've always heard good things about this store.
Anytime I've gone I haven't found anything but they have been around for quite some time and I presume if they were selling fakes, it would have been made public.

Have you ever been to the store? It's a whole in the wall up a flight of stairs across from Macys off 7th ave. If you ever have some spare time. check it out. Mainly Gucci, Prada, Fendi, Ferragamo. People swear by it and the owner says he makes frequent trips to Italy to buy at wholesale.

I've been in there twice.. the stuff is real no doubt.. some of the bags were still too high for my budget... but hey... just figured I'd pass on the link to everyone.

I dont actually find the owner or the people to work there very nice... They were actually pretty rude. :(
