Yeaah! That girl with huge eyes!

In my opinion, nothing tops GUESS as the worst advertisement currently out there.

Once upon a time, it used to use great models (Claudia, Josie, Alessandra, Bridget, even Anna Nicole when you look back), it used to have simple, yet captivating settings and situations (Drew Barrymore sitting on a lawn chair, Claudia coming out of a bar, Laetitia dancing with a group of people, Josie Maran sitting alone on a dirt road), and it used to have simple, but totally sexy close ups (the one with Carre Otis wearing a bandana and hoop earrings comes to mind)...

... but now we get unknown models (I'm sorry, but who exaclty is Melissa Haro?) or trashy celebrities (Paris Hilton), UNIMAGINATIVE settings galore (oh, the beach... again? a bar... again? on top of a convertible... and on top of a motorcycle, done and redone till there is no tomorrow. And don't get me started on the "lesbo" scenario that appears in at least one out of two guess ads. And let's not forget the overly cosmeticized girls with dark eyeshadow and bee stung red lips that end up looking like drag queens or strippers or p*rn stars or all of the above.

Trashy, boring, and over.

I agree with that one so much and also open mouth, oiled skin and 'orgasm' eyes trash. Enough is enough :yuk: Talking about ads on TV, makes me scratch the carpet in anger, why most of the perfume ads have to be whispered?

I haven't read this whole thread, so pardon me if they've been mentioned a billion times ... but Kate Moss for Roberto Cavalli and Gisele Bundchen for Vuitton are terrible! Orange skin is never okay.

I have to disagree and agree with most of what is said here: love this seasons D&G, Prada, and Badgley Mishka (with MKA) ads. I forgot about those Sketchers with Christina Aguilera ads--hated those.

I've been so sick of CK Euphoria for a long time. It's not a bad smell, but I don't care for it. I always liked perfume samples, and this one has been showing up for months. It sucks that so much goes into marketing than the actual product.

For me any makeup ad looks horrible lately, i can't believe how much photoshop they do to the models faces, Why the hell do they want to show perfectness!!!??? when you see the girls in the backstages they have beautifull skin, and they look natural, so why they do that I can't understand.

Also in perfumes ads, i found them always boring, maybe because it'0s only one picture and you have to see it over and over for one or two years...so it becomes boring.

Prada, Chloe, Marc jacobs...
lately they've seen uninspired.

And any ad with celebrities is horrible! I want models!!!!!!!!!!!

I tried to like it, but I really hate Gemma's Obsession ad. I just find it creepy, and not sensual at all.

oh my lord, i completely agree with that. i think i hate these ads more than any and i cringed the first time i saw one. she may be over 18 now, but i'm sorry, she still just looks so damn young, it feels like child p*rn*gr*phy, and even if she didn't look that young it's just...i don't know. it's true, they are not at all sensual or appealing.

and i also agree about those lanvin ads being totally creepy. i hate them.

I really dislike Kate's Stella McCartney adverts. It just looks like an outake from editorial work, and I think the same can be said for the Longchamp adverts.
And the new D&G S/S '06 Adverts are horrible.

the D&G SS06 ads were... HOT!. Especially the D&G jewel one with vlada all contorted.

gemma ward's obsession ads reminded me of Gollum. Creepy cave? Check. Transculent, living dead skin? Check. bolbous head? check, check and check.

I am scared.

I have to say the new Versace ads with Halle Berry. I opened Vogue, was expecing Versace ads wtih celebs (god knows that all they've used for the last couple seasons) but was a bit grossed out by Halle Berry who is gorgeous but has the EXACT SAME EXPRESSION in EVERY picture. God, I hate those ads. I expected better because Halle Berry used to be a model but anyway. And J.Lo for LV. Uma Thurman for LV (during her 2nd season where she had on the red lipstick and was shot like an old movie star) was actually quite good. I have a few pics from those.

Halle is so perfect that she would be a pretty successful model without being particularly good, if you know what I mean. She's basically flawless. I also hate those ads, even a beauty as perfect as hers is lost in those guileless poses and boring facial expression (as you say, the same one over and over).

Have you seen the latest?! OMG! Disgusting! Their clothes are staying the same. It's cute but damn!

Bun-bun. I completely agree with you. Although I walked pass Guess yesterday and did buy this rather pretty pink top but anyway, I can't stand to look at those ads because it makes the girls look so cheap....

Worst ad? Hmm...I dont have a pic, but I remember I saw it in Paper magazine a few yrs ago; I only saw it once; I think I know why...

Dior; trashy-lookin model; pink & white logo'ed stuffed animals..It looked like the most horrible mix of Playboy & LaChappelle...

I think the Chloe S/S 06 ads were terrible.

Firstly all the models were ugly and old. No offence to all those Kristy Turlington fans.

All the ads were boring, lifeless and pointless. I mean photographing an old woman in a dark room with a table?! What is going on with that!?

I think Chloe should have gone for something like the Lily Donaldson spread for US Vogue in February 2006.

The picture with Lily wearing Chloe perfectly encapsulates the essence of Chloe - innocence and beauty.

p.s. I really hope they get Gemma Ward to do the next campaign!

Those horrible Versace ads with Madonna behind a desk about a years ago.

God, she looked so awful! I can't believe Madonna, the master image maker, let that one through.

Those stupid Marc Jacobs ads.

Don't get me started on all the Jill Saint John ads. At least she had some sense to see it was time to retire herself. You know who I'm talking about.

OH, THE MOST HORRIBLE CAMPAIGN, EVA GOES TO the Diesel ads years back with that creepy looking thing wearing that red suit holding balloons or running through a field of flowers and whatever. They were supposed to be satire, but the only thing it said was, WOW, I guess George Lucas and Co. is not the only conglomeration with the most yes-men.

Okay, I'll admit. The versace ads with Madonna were pretty bad, she looked so lifeless.
