Payless shoe ad in Vogue

I don't see how this is any worst than walmart.

I agree... I put Payless and Wal Mart on about the same page...

I must admit that I'm a little disappointed to see these ads in Vogue, though... I'm not familiar with anybody that reads Vogue yet shops at those places... but I'm sure there are people who do... and that's fine. :) I just don't find the quality to be too great.

Payless is trying to keep up with the times. I think the world is more fashion-conscious that it's ever been... so it's about time that Payless steps up and gets competitive.

this is one of the things that stopped me bying us vogue - 13 page wal-mart fashion spread? no thank you.

OMG i was just on style.com and they have walmart ads! i'm not kidding
some brand or something called George at Walmart...
what is this world coming to?!

I didn't see the ad, but could it be the photoshoot done in ANTM? (don't remember which season)

Nope, the one on ANTM they were doing the crank dance and looked like complete tools!!!!

I am not going knock down people who can't afford a 400 dollar pair of shoe.....So, if you like it buy itB)

I actually like the way the slouch boot looks:blush:

I don´t usually wear nice looking shoes every day, so when it comes to dressing up, I tend to spend less..... but when it comes to comfort (everday clothes and shoes) I spend more:rolleyes:

Hi, I read Vogue and shop at Payless, it's nice to meet you :flower:

I adore Vogue and high fashion, but as a 15 year old with very limited income, my shopping budget doesn't quite include YSL yet. Some of my most complimented shoes I have are actually from Payless, and when I admit that, shock often follows. Which, of course, is quite understandable. For me, fashion has to be more about finding nice looking pieces where I can, and faking my way to looking as close to humanly possible as if I've stepped out of Vogue without actually being able to do so.

I believe I've just committed fashion heresy.

weird...most of the time when i went to payless..they always had crappy shoes
maybe it's the begining of the fall/winter season...last time i went they had some pretty nice stuff  so im not that turned off

Payless ads in Vouge are a bit out of place, but so are Baby Phat ones- but Vouge needs to pay the bills, no?

Payless is a great shoe source for people who are more quantity than quality... I like to change my look up often, and my family can't afford for me to have 35 pairs of Monols, Jimmys, and Christians, so a few of my own shoes come from Payless.

And I look damn good in 'em, too ^_^

Princesse-you said exactly what I was thinking. Personally, I find it insulting the way people trash Payless. Not everyone has the budget for shoes that cost as much as a month's rent. I have gotten so many compliments on my numerous pairs of Payless shoes and will continue to purchase them. There are many $400+ shoes out there that are god awful and uncomfortable as well. Price does not always equal quality or practicality.

i'd much rather see payless than another baby phat ad

I totally agree with you
Baby Phat and Kimora Lee are just plain ugly and digusting.
Uggh!!!

I usually get my shoes from DSW but from time to time if you can't afford it but you need shoes on a budget, I say Payless is ok. I agree about the lack of comfort, so I always try to get my shoes wide width and I'm a 5 and a half-6. I have maybe 3 pairs from there and of all my shoes I get complimented the most on my purple/pink pumps I bought from them almost 2 years ago, which are so comfy and stylish at the same time. I'm loving some of their boots though. And a New York Newspaper rated the top 10 boots of the season and ones of theirs came in 3rd.
