Worst Makeup Mistakes!

How about the old ladies who have it in a jagged line with a sort of pinkish-red pencil...:innocent:

Talking of old ladies, when I was a Home Carer, I used to visit a lady in her late 80's who had a blue rinse, bright turquoise eye shadow, rouge as opposed to blusher & orange lipstick. In some ways, I admired her for making an effort at that age, but less would DEFINATELY have been more. I also had to keep a straight face when she went on about young women with multicolored hair & too much make-up!

That's...cringe-worthy. I pride myself on being able to pull off bright makeup but seriously, very few people can pull off a super-bright cheek.

when I was about 12 or 13 I used brown lipliner and no lipstick. omg I looked so bad, but all my girlfriends at school wore it!! I´m glad I´m over that now!

Here in Arizona everyone does that. I never saw this back in the Midwest where I was at, and when I saw it here on a girl in Tucson I honestly thought she was on drugs and forgot to color the rest of her lip in.

Pale people with too much facial bronzer :s They look dirty...

^ and just to make things better, thats what most make up artist (M.A.C., Sephora) in makeup shop do: they put layers and layers of bronzer on you and they dont' know how to stop - and you end up with orange-brown cheeks.

makeup so heavy that their sunglasses leave a dent on the bridge of their noses!

I live in Taiwan and am Taiwanese so I see this a LOT:

1. Really, really, really pale (almost white) foundation + 5 inches worth of powder + fake eyelashes and really pink and heavy blush. Oh bonus points if they have blonde hair.

2. Makeup like this on Asians:

I'm not self-hatin' in any way... But ladies with oriental features DO NOT suit light makeup that just makes the eyes look like two slits. I also hate the really fake creases... It is so irritating to look at.

I'm sorry, I see this SO much when I shop that I just had to rant about it...

I agree with the lip products on chapped lips thing, the only thing you should be using then is lip balm.

totally agree with you - i can never wear lipstick because my lips are constantly getting chapped. If I really want to ... I sit with a pot of lip balm and keep applying it the whole day before I wear any lipstick.

I think you really have to look for the right shade of red. Whether its nailpolish or lipstick. Especially if you have tanned skin. Otherwise it can look plain cheap.

Another thing that look really bad is when liquid eye liner goes all crooked - some people get it on the upper brows because its still wet - ugh. Some people over extend the liner beyond their eye lids - if its not done well it looks stupiddd.

Some people curl their eye lashes outwards while applying mascara and it looks so unnatural.

^Yes, the right shade of red is so so important. The classic Revlon Red looks terrible on my nails because it is too dark and looks silly/tryhard. Therefore I use Red Hot Tamale which looks much better and compliments my tan! and the same is true for lips, lipstick looks kind of strange on me fullstop.

And I agree fully about the extending eyeliner thing! If done well it is fine, or If your eyemakeup is heavy (NOT trashy) but otherwise, blah.

One of my friends (I keep my make-up very simple all my crazy stories are from my friends who are make-up risk takers lol) decided to combine a few colors of eyeshadow to make like a fun/high fashion-y look but the colors she chose were green, pink and purple and she didn't blend them nicely and she made it look like she was dead or like her eyelids were dead and had been rotting for a few days  I didn't want to say anything because she liked how it looked (and hey, points for trying something new) but boy am I glad she stopped doing that lol

Really covering foundations.. concealers are for covering - why would you want to cover your entire face? For me the worst make-up is the kind that messes up the way the light hits your face. Higlighter is the most under-estimated product ever!

Applying too much in one go. If done so she make up sits on top of the skin like a mask rather then bonding with the skin and becoming one.. Leaving harsh lines (not enough blending). Over powdering as it often looks ashy.

Foundation on lips that goes flaky and leaves white lines.
Heavy bronzer.
Darker foundation than natural skin tone.
Bad fake tan! Even if you are albino your natural colour always looks better than orange:yuk:
Cheap coloured contacts (okay, you don't see these too often, but they are still awful).
