Worst Makeup Mistakes!

Plumour said:
- cakey or heavy foundations, or foundations that are way too light for their skin

- the face is all nicely covered up by foundations while the neck is being the real self

- unnatural blush

- unnatural highlights/shadows

- deadly thick black eyeliner (or brows)

- lip liner that is too many shades darker than the lip color

- lips that are too GLITTERING

- fake lashes that are TOO fake TOO long that I can see them miles away

- the eye makeup and the lips don't match (leave the lips simple and fresh if you've done a lot to your eyes, and leave the eye area nice and clean if you wanna go for the hot red lip look.

I'll see what else I may think of

i don' t want to sound rude, but some people like wearing fake lashes and it being noticeable that they' re ridiculously intense. or like wearing a lot of blush. or like wearing a lot of eyeliner in the day or whenever.
i do it all. and most of the time, when i have the time, i go all out with my makeup if i feel like it. it' s art. it' s fun. it doesn' t always have to look so natural. or atleast i don' t think so.

Face being a different color then the neck, blush being in a straight line, over bronzing.

I hate to see overly white shadow used to highlight the brow bone. Especially if you're tan. I mean, I use white, but my skin is white. I just think it looks bad if it's too extreme.

Pale nude lips. It doesn't matter if you're blonde or brunette, black or white, wearing sky blue or black eyeshadow - you end up looking p*rnstar-ish like Pamela Anderson anyway. And lipstick and lipgloss are equally bad, nude is bad. :ninja:

^yech, I hate the nude lip look. you look like you are sick and pale when you try to pull it off.

I disagree about nude lips. It only looks p*rnstar-ish when you pair it with over-the-top, dark, smokey eyes. Otherwise, it looks lovely.

BOLD BLUSH, to the point where it is all you see.
bad eyeliner application
too brown lipstick, to the point where it's frosty.

- Tons of white eye shadow applied in a tacky way.
- I agree with farren_fashion - bad eye liner application! It's the easiest way to make your look trashy.
- Dark lip liner over light lipstick.
- Tattooed eyebrows, or very thin/badly shaped eyebrows (especially if the few hairs they have left over are drawn over with brow pencil)
- Tacky-looking pastel shadows. Sometimes they can work with the right application, but frosty blue shadow just smeared on in a line is not attractive.
- Make-up colors "competing" with your coloring. If you have green eyes and dark hair, you're going to wear a different set of colors from someone with light hair and brown eyes.

wow to the female michael jackson lol
she definetly needs some new makeup tips!!!

Destroyed eyebrows after a heavy night of bad plucking.
Dark lip linner and nude lips is a very bad combo.
Bad tanning like you see in places where funny enough it's always raining and grey-I find it very tacky.
Different foundation used in face-neck-cleavage.
Bad eyeliner that just gets all over the place-

What exactly is the point of wearing false lashes if you cannot tell of its effect? In agreement with artistry andglam.

- you nailed it. The white brow highlight is hideous. I see this often in women in their 20's and 40's.

My thing is concealer that is lighter than your skin. Instead, match it to your entire face so you do not have this massive highlighted raccoon around your eyes.

I love the nude lips, dark eyeshadow look, but I think it only looks good if you have flawless skin.

Pamela Anderson will always look cheap no matter what she wears.

kalli has eyes. I think shes aware Charlize and Katherine are not Pam, but merely pointing out that nude lips done correctly are not 'p*rn-ish', but rather anything on Pam looks 'cheap' regardless of the makeup style.

Not making up the neck is also a major mistake IMO. The neck is part of the face and it needs foundation and concealer and powder, too. I mean, who wants a smooth, porcelain face and a splotchy, veiny, blemished looking neck?

Reading this thread made me laugh, and kind of happy I was kind of oblivious to makeup until after I found this site! I don't know if this is the right place to post this, a lot of the mistakes are about foundation/powder blending or overload.
What kind of lighting is best for putting on makeup?
