Yohji Yamamoto Mens S/S 2014 Paris

Thanks Marc10 for the pics!

This collection is the reason I adore Yohji so much.

His proud Japanese roots are always forefront, but never gimmicky. The infusion of East meets West is so seamless here: The drape, graphic volume and fluidity of kendo merges with the English gentleman's rainwear so charmingly and nonchalantly mixes very naturally. The layering is casually masterful: I love the layered shorts. And everything just looks-- and must feel, so weightless, it's almost transcendent, ethereal. Even as a presentation, it feels and looks natural-- including the partially applied white makeup (and Prince-esque statement scrawled on the face). Just part ceremonial and part rainy Sunday stroll.

And awesome casting.

amazingly amazing...

thanks for the thread...
i have to come back and look at each image more closely...
but this is really making me happy...

Best smile right there.

Love it.. especially the way it transitions from his usual layering (favorite part are the sleeves), the more saturated section with all the heavy textures that are so brilliantly worked and the lightness at the end.. though the makeup makes me think there's nothing light about it.

I think these events should be just Yohji.

oh wow....i just adore every element about this collection. always nuanced and layered. those silky silver looks at the top block of images are divine....i can see myself wearing something like in summer.
