Okay, so I just got my Carol Christian Poell pants in the mail, and they still have their price tag attached at 270 Euros. I paid $208. So this means they were like 40% off. So there's some solid evidence against the "everything is initially 30% off/yoox isn't much of a discount" theory. I think 40% off is pretty good for an initial markdown.

the $ to the euro is about even...no?...

Actually, $1 US = 0.775 Euros, so $208 = 161 Euros, 161/270 = 0.596, so yeah, 40% is about right.

I still doubt everything is -40%, tho. The CdG H+ sneakers are 220 euro on Yoox Italy. Do you think they were 370 euros last summer (btw, I am not sure if they are from SS04:-) The CdG Shirt Peace T was 110-120 euro two years ago:-)

I just got several Helmut Lang pieces from my wife for 1/3rd of the YOOX prices (exact same pieces). The store puts a retail price on the tag as well (i guess to make you feel so smart about saving money, or whatever), and the retail prices (although that tag is often inacurate) are like 10% higher than the ones on YOOX
