Ah ,Breakfast at Tiffany's had some amazing clothes.I loved the dress the asian woman in holly's apartment was wearing.I think it's called a cheongsam or something.

I need to finish watching that movie ,should I buy it?

audrey hepburn's classical black dress at the start of breakfast at tiffany's.

one of the best clothes ever and it is so iconic

Marie Antoinette had great clothes and all but no one would wear them today 'cause if you did it would be a costume so I'd rather go for movies like Breakfast at Tiffany's or Evita...

The Dreamers
Amelie
Casino Royale (I think I may be biased and just tend to like whatever Eva Green is wearing )
Breakfast at Tiffany's
Rear Window
Umbrellas of Cherbourg
Marie-Antoinette
From the look of the trailer, The Duchess has amazing costumes :woot:
Elizabeth:The Golden Age
Daniel Deronda
Gosford Park ^_^

I just found this thread at the very end of my "subscribed threads" list and want to resurrect it!!

Many of my fave movies have already been listed (how to lose a guy in 10 days, almost famous, gone with the wind, clueless, 13 going to 30, all audrey hepburn movies, etc) however thought i'd also add to the list:

Meet Joe Black

Faye Dunaway in Thomas Crown Affair (1968)

I love both versions of the Thomas Crown Affair. But for sartorialism and elegance Faye Dunaway's iconic outfits and the way she carries them has to be in front. She has a way of making an entrance which you can't take your eyes off.

But it is not just the costumes but all the subtle details. Smoking with a cigarette holder, the headscarf in the car, the way she sits down so elegantly at the table at the outdoor restaurant.. Even the way she steps into the car backwards upon her arrival at the airport. She must have been to finishing school. Very, very classy.

Like the saying goes "it's not the clothes but the way you wear them". You can have all the designer clothes in the world but if you don't know how to carry yourself it's wasted. The movie is the epitome of classy cool.

Marie Antoinette is almost too much, too cheesy, but oh well i love it, pure eye-candy.
i just love Mathilda's outfits in Léon: The Professional.

Marie Antoinette
Clueless
Australia
Titanic
Breakfast at Tiffany's
To Catch a Thief
Legally Blonde 2
Enchanted
How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days
The Devil Wears Prada
Black Swan

the pillow book. koji tatsuno, martin margiela and the wonderful dutch costume designer dien van straalen provided costumes for that film.

and speaking of dien, orlando with tilda swinton would be my second favorite.

i am love

the birds(the idea of that sophisticated skirt-suit being pecked at by birds is what i love most)

There are a few movies which I've seen in the last year that really stand out to me, costume wise (and are one's that I'd ideally be able to raid clothes from!). Roman Holiday is one of my all time favorite movies, I love the story, but I also love how Edith Head was able to transform Princess Ann with so few costume changes. A few other favorites include Clueless (the epitome of 90's fashion) and Atonement (I will love this film forever for it's exquisite period costumes and it's tragic storyline). And when I watched the 2009 film, Grey Gardens, I was not only bowled over by Drew and Jessica's phenomenal acting but the stunning wardrobe both women wore. Big and Little Edie were known for their unique style and I am so glad that the costume designer (Cat Thomas) was able to capture it in this film adaptation.
