i like the yellow too but i think suede eps in lighter colors will get dirty easily. ivory in regular leather will be good! :)

I think the yellow is fab. I don't know if I would want it for winter but fun summer bag. same with the white.

I do think the suede has potential to rub off on clothes. I dont know. Seeing Nicole Richi carrying it makes me want one. Its fab

I had a hard time with my suede bags once they turn 2 or 3. Starts peeling. I'm not sure its a good idea. I would save up for a patent black or buffalo leather brown instead.

Thank you guys for all the advice!! I love the yellow, but suede always starts looking a little nappy after you wear it for a while. I think I will get the the ivory.

this thread has been hot while I was away!

question, have you guys discovered that there are both a new ivory muse and the good 'ol white one we all know, or are they one and the same?

They're the same. The white is made to age, so it becomes ivory, but you can't really tell.

YSL oversized ivory muse on my mind..

hi all,..

i'm very new to YSL muses, i've read the past 10 pages of this forum for research.. hehee :innocent: anyway, the white oversize muse really got me :woot: yup.. my reaction since it first came out and still stayed this way! anyway, here are my questions:

1.the ivory muses, are they high maintenance?
2. and i've read they're patent leather?? what's patent? so they're not buffalo skin?
3. Any1 use apple guard or any leather conditioners/stain removers/blockers on the white muse yet? what works?
4. How are u able to wait 3 mths till it arrives? any idea what to do besides ordering another bag.. hehee.. :innocent:

cheers! :p   :flower:

yeah, I'm about 90% sure I will. I was waiting to see if I got this new job which would require me moving and therefore I figured I should not spend the money on the extra muse seeing as how I'd need money for a new apartment lease. Then I didn't get the job, so now I need a new muse as a consolation prize :p

mundo, did you ever get everything resolved with those b#$%*^#$%S and bergdorf?

nope, almost 1.5 months later and they still owe me $25...I just got back from a long vacation, I'll deal with it tomorrow...needless to say, new muse is NOT coming from them^_^

hi guccigal.. nope, i haven't seen/touched ysl IRL before. i'm new to this bag, just admired it from far.. but now i finally saved up enough to own one :flower: i'm just excited but nervous too of purchasing a white bag

just googled it.. cool material ysl muse has.. a glossed buffalo! hehee.. it's reassuring to hear that minor scratches and marks can be removed.. i'm known for my accidental abuse to bags =]

Patent leather

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Patent leather is leather that has been given a high gloss finish. The original process was developed by Newark, New Jersey-based inventor Seth Boyden in 1818 with commercial manufacture beginning September 20, 1819. His process used a linseed oil-based lacquer coating. Modern patent leather usually has a plastic coating.
Patent leather is sometimes confused with poromeric imitation leathers such as DuPont's Corfam and Kuraray Co.'s Clarino which are manmade materials with a similar glossy appearance.
Patent leather and poromerics are cleaned in a similar way. Dirt adhering to the coating can be removed with a damp cloth, using a mild soap if needed. Minor scratches and scuff marks in the coating itself can be removed using one of several special purpose patent leather and poromeric cleaners on the market. With wear and tear, patent leather will eventually lose its glossy finish, but will still be smoother than most other types of leather, looking almost rubbery.
Patent leather and poromerics are used in applications where an eye-catching glossy appearance is the main consideration. Examples include fashion items such as wallets and handbags, dance and uniform shoes and professional wrestling boots.

chic, I have the ivory as GG mentioned and there are some marks on the corners but it's really insignificant. I really love mine, you should go for it!
