klow LOVE IT  ps i really really love your wall colour in the second photo and am in the process of repainting/decorating. Do you perchance know the paint colour?!

i think a lot of people don't know/understand about proportions...
and the large bag is just too big for a lot of people who are carrying it...
this goes for a lot of mj bags and other brands as well...
hermes birkins for example...

bigger isn't always better......
i think the large really only works on models- mostly because they are almost 6ft tall....
everyone else just looks like a HUGE victim imo...
getting the size/proportion right for your own proportions is actuallly quite tricky and makes a big difference in the overall 'style/chic-ness' of a 'look'...

does anyone else make a good blk patent bag w/gold hardware?...
that is all i really want......

ehh, I understand your point softie, but I don't think it necessarily makes a person look like a victim. It's all about attitude. For me it's a personal aesthetic of liking the contrast of a BIG bag with a smaller person. also, I carry a lot of crap around with me (I imagine you do too with your job). So while having a bag in proportion to you is great, i personally like the juxtaposition of disproportionate bag and it's also not entirely pratical. Some days I carry a clutch, some days my Ramona. Speaking of which, the ramona is coming out in black patent this fall and I believe it has gold hardware. Though it might be too big depending on what you want. Check the Jimmy Choo thread.

mmm...i don't know...
i think it looks rather ridiculous...
just like the sky high platform shoes...

very victim-y...
i only see trendy monsters doing it...
not stylish people i admire...

it IS difficult to find a bag that is big enough and small enough at the same time...
i should start designing bags......

ramona?..is that jimmy choo?...
mmmm...i don't like any of their bags to date- but i will go have a look..
thanks for the tip..:flower:

ehh, it's just personal. I understand. For me, you either get a vibe from a person that it's not about the trend, or you don't. Plus a little bit of imperfection in an outfit makes me smile. Maybe it's different though in nyc.

yep, it's jimmy choo. Don't think it's really your style, but thought I would mention it.

i am SURE it is different in nyc..
you're right...
that's a good point....
i bet it is different depending where you are...

interesting how that changes things. Keep us in the loop re: your quest for patent!

handbag lover, the ivory is the white. Is this what you are asking?

Totally agree with you meg, me too most of the time I'm carrying my junks and my kitchen sink with me:lol: I always love to carry a big bag eventhough at time the trend might going for the small bag all my bags still have to be big enough to carry my kitchen sink:innocent:

The paint was Taubmans and the color name was "GRAPLA"

oh thanks. I just bought some paint this morning and was totally inspired by your paint colour though I think mine might be a bit lighter or more brown. Either way! Thanks!

For those small girls with attitude and confidence I would encourage you girls to get this bag. Just go with your gut and if you think you can pull it off... GO FOR IT! and don't let some not very nice comments hold you back.

It is truly gorgeous bag and I've got so many complements and no one complains that it too big or it looks ridiculous on me;)

I've checked the F/W acceories collection for men on the YSL site, & to my surprise THE MUSE is listed in the men section too:huh: with a version called 'travel Muse'??

I have to say that I agree with you on this one. I think a lot of people got caught up with the oversized-bag trend, and it can look very contrived. Especially with the muse because it is longer than wide and has such long straps. It really makes a spectacle of itself sometime. It kinds of brings up a bigger discusion of the way that fashion has changed in the last five or so years. While bags/accesories use to be a part of an outfit, today many people see them as the only thing that matters. But I won't get to into that in this topic. As far as a black patent/gold hardware bag, the only thing I can think of would be something classic from Chanel in patent, but I don't know how you that would be. Maybe Lanvin is doing something for fall?? I'll keep an eye out...

thanks mj..
i keep checking chanel...but i find they are either to trendy/ostentatious..
or too small to be practical for my lifestyle...

but i like the lanvin suggestion...
i hadn't seen anything until now...
but i think i am in love with the linda..:woot:...
will check it..
sorry- go ahead and get back on topic guys...
i think i am going to start a NEW thread about this oversized bag thing..;)

^ I have a lanvin kansas bag thats balck w/ gold hardware which I really love. I think they're doing it for fall too.

softgrey, what about marni? they have some black patent frame bags im pretty sure.

I agree, who cares what people think, if you like a large bag then wear it. I think large bags look good on everyone, no matter what their size. If you like to carry lots of things around then you need a large bag. I have a med muse that I use almost daily. If I had the oversize, I'd probably just use it for traveling. Only because I don't need as big of a bag for daily use.

BTW - Klow - what kind of camera do you have? Your photos always look great.
