the leather is thick, slightly textured with a subtle sheen, and seems quite durable -- I think it's buffalo? nothing like the novak leather. I'm glad people are warming up to this bag -- I think it's great! and you can't compare it to the mombasa -- it's a new bag, not a replacement. morriseel, can you post pics of you with yours? because I'm about the same height as you and when I tried on the x-large in white I felt it looked ridiculous (as a handbag, it would be fine as a travel bag but I don't need a $1800 white travel bag). and the SA agreed (and I have to assume he was being honest since he would make a bigger commission on the bigger bag). I'm leaning more towards the large as an everyday bag, but I don't want to give up on the x-large too easily.

morriseel, this bag is really growing on me. How would you describe the leather? Is it a high maintenance (easily scratched leather ala Mcqueen Novak), or is it softer? If it is the latter, then I'm going to get the oversized one in chocolate!

Hi Greendrv...it is definitely low maintenance...even though I just got it I can tell. It is very slightly antiquey and bumpy (the brown is anyway). The brown is so dark it's almost black. As for the Novak...I've used it once and it has little dints where it was rubbing against my jean pocket studs .

Will do..once I'm dressed today (in gym gear at present )
The SA initially thought it was too big for me...but I then brought my friend along and it took a while to come around but she definitely YAYed the larger one. In fact she wanted it herself, but it was last one...so she definitely was telling me the truth! The smaller one is just too average..has no pop at all. Kate Moss carries the large one.

The SA told me this was the Large. They had pics of Kate Moss, Nicole Kidman, Sharon Stone, Demi Moore and Debra Messinger (?) all carrying the 'Large'...
She didn't tell me there was an even bigger one...apparently they got in 8 for the singapore store, 7 had been pre-ordered, and i got the last shop stock.

Just read the receipt..it does say 'oversize', not 'large'. I think it's one in the same.
