Of course there are unfriendly and friendly shop assistants in every store, I have worked also as shop assistant and of course I was friendly to the customer, because this is part of my job to satisfy the customers wishes and desire.
I can only talk from my experience in my two Zara stores and it was unfortunately worse. Sorry to say that.

^Couldn't agree more.
I work for the same chain as Brini and if I was only half as unfriendly as one of the Zara SAs I'd be fired right away.

Back to topic: I went to Zara again today and found some cute coats, but the buttons looked very cheap (shiny, as though as they would break every second). Do you think I could simply replace them with good buttons?

as soon as I get back to italy and recuperate financially from all my expenses (i.e. shopping) I'll go check the zara in bologna for the red prada KOs!

went there today. tried on the actual Prada knock off sandals in the muted red colour (just like Prada) and once on i realised there was too much of a gap at the toe area. basically the opening must have been made for really fat toes
now i havent tried the actual real ones on to see if its the same. otherwise they were cute.

^ Shoes can be such a pain.
Sometimes there is too much toe, sometimes there's too little toe.
Why can't designers get it right :judge:

I got back a little over a week ago but I forgot to follow up. I remember at least 4 Zara's in NY, one around 25th and 5th, one on 5th by rockefeller, one in soho, one around the 34th st. Macy's.... Definatley not hard to find one. I didn't take a pic of course but for whoever asked, it probably looks similar to the stores in Germany. Nothing exceptional but nice enough you know?
All I bought was the black tafetta bubble skirt with skinny studded belt. I did so much shopping at other stores though too. Auw, I miss NY guys, I want to go back....:(

I am gonna hit up zara in Sf soon, I wonder if they have gotten a new shipment in yet? I want to check out some of this balenciaga-esque stuff! I love those dresses upthread, fit is always an issue, but I'm a whiz w/ a sewing machine, so maybe i can make some minor alterations...

Did you mean Macy's oder Mexx? Because I remember that someone in this thread asked where you can find a Mexx store in NY.

I went to Zara today and a) they didn't have the marni dress and b) the jodhpurs were only available in 34 and 42

er... I dunno but there is a Zara around the 34th and 6th area, within a block anyway, I don't remember precisely where.

And I think I was asking about Mexx. I hadn't been to one since high school. I found that too, on fifth near rockefeller. Disappointing, I guess it has either changed or my taste has...

I've been to Zara today. They really have some nice things.

Especially from the TRF line. I saw some beautiful jackets.

By the way, what do you all think of the other stores of the Zara group? Like Bershka, Oysho, Pull&Bear, Massimo Dutti, Stradivarius...

I really like them. ^_^

will go back tomorrow. some nice things last time i was there but i always find myself to go for basics. prints are a little bit of a no no ...

I love the zara line. I have the nicest PJ's from oysho and have found really nice, classic pieces from massimo dutti. when I was younger I used to buy out Bershka, its really youthful and edgy. every now and then I find some nice rock-and roll/punk pieces from there that don't look too "hot topic".

oh, didn't know Massimo Dutti belonged to the Zara group! I like it, I have some classical things from there too, like a short trench for example... :)

I like some things from Stradivarius. The last time I was in Spain I bought some red patent flats. Love them! They had some cute blouses, too.

I have pieces from Massimo Dutti, Zara and Bershka. I adore MD, I wished they have a store in my town! Bershka is okay, it's target a younger customer group, I have only a dress and a pair of shoes by them and it's okay, the quality is good for the price. I haven't been yet in Oysho and Stradivarius. Pull&Bear sounds familiar to me but I'm not sure if I have been there, probably in Barcelona.

Massimo Dutti are doing versions of the Balenciaga blazer. Grey pinstripe with navy edging and purple velour. They were out of the smaller sizes so I didn't get to check the fit. However, they did seem less tiny than the Zara versions and were priced pretty steeply at 200 Euros!

BTW - it so bloody cold here - Paris - that I am already living in my Zara/Balenciaga rip-off jacket and am adoring the cut. It really works for my body type - which is unsual with high street clothing.

I agree with some of you, Bershka sometimes is a bit too "young". But the current fall collection is nice, have a look at it. Very rock n roll.

I love, LOVE Oysho.

The make the cutest PJs. I have an obsession for them.

I made that question, by the way, because I feel that with all these stores, each of them is becoming more focused on a target.

I feel that some years ago Zara was a bit more "younger". Yes, there's still the TFR line, but I notice the change in it, too. I think it may be due to the fact that Bershka and Pull&Bear represent the "young" face of the group.

I'm also lovin' the Pull&Bear tees for men. Nice, funny, colorful. A bit funky, they surely take something from all the "nu rave" thing that's going on in Europe. The also cost only 13,15 euros here in Italy.
